I got exactly what I was looking for with this. I knew from other reviews that this palm was a good starter one for me since I've never owned one before. I was really happy the two things were bundled together becuase everywhere else I had to pay just as much for only the palm. I don't have bluetooth, so I don't have any internet on my palm, so if I ever get another one, I may get the internet capable one. I was a little dissappointed that the Documents to Go didn't let me transfer Adobe PDFs, and that I had to pay more if I wanted to. Otherwise, everything is working great, and I'm very happy.
I bought this for my wife for Christmas and she loves it. The wireless keyboard really makes this unit very useful. Theres not much she can't do now with this Palm. The only negative thing is she wishes there was more choice in the alarm sounds.
The tungsten e2 is a great hand held orgnizer however when I loaded the program into the pc and then turned it off I found that there was no backup so I had to remove the program and start over with the same results. So after fighting this for a few day,s. after talking to some of the people at palm I found my operating system was not compatable . on an other pc I had microsoft profesdional insalled and it works fine. Suggestion when some one calles the help line have them first tell them the system that is compatable. because I spent a lot of time just to find that out.
Hard to set up. Took about 4 hours, mostly thinking how to get real audio on device. High quality build overall. PDF files with picture's and graphs don't view well, but text ion PDF's view great. Bareable loading times for PDF's but repetitive loading while browsing due to pix, graphs, charts, fast reading etc. Keyboard is awesome and high quality also. Didn't get the screen to rotate. It's a good thing I have an SD card slot on my laptop because the real audio software takes forever to transfer the files from my laptop to device because it converts to desired compression every time! Music skips while simultaneously browsing PDF's, but also does on my laptop. My needs were to demanding for this device, opting for a U810 with HSUPA and bluetooth folding keyboard and mouse in Feb.
I always have preferred Palm PDA's, and this package offers exceptional value. While I probably will not use the keyboard very much, it is well designed and will come in handy for initially entering data that I had lost because I didn't sync my old PDA for a long time! The book, and instructional DVD are excellent references for first-time PDA users and for reviewing updated and new features. The Tungsten E2 has all the features I would want in a PDA, including the usual features of calendar, tasks, memos, contacts, and plenty of room for books, games, my bible, etc. With the addition of an inexpensive card, it can hold quite a large amount of photos and videos as well. When you add on the bluetooth wireless connection feature, you have an exceptional and reliable PDA package!
This was my first time using a PDA, and I'm very satisfied with my purchase. In fact, I like it so well, that I've recommended it to my fellow nursing students. The keyboard is easy to set up and use, as is the PDA itself. There was a slight problem in January because I guess the PDA doesn't like to have alarms set for January because it messes it up somehow with the change of year. It wouldn't turn off. I called customer support, and they told me what to do and now it's fine.
Having owned a tungsten E previous to this purchase I was already a little biased toward the product. This was simply to recplace an old Tungsten E. But the keyboard made this purchase all the better. It works flawlessly with the Palm and makes data entry in things like journals and e-mails much, much easier. This Palm - Keyboard combo is wonderful.
It took four tries to get the software installed from the disk supplied with the device before I finally had to download a version to get one that worked. It seems that the DVD which was included was not burned correctly and this seems to be a common problem with this device. But with the downloaded software and the code to allow the keyboard to interface with the device, it is now all working great.
took awhile to get software to download off cd to computer , but afterwards no problems, easy to read screen, and seamless with adobe as work rules are under format, great for PDF and PDA files. Love the keyboard, folds up nicely not taking up a lot of room
I bought this product for my husband. This palm was working very well at the beginning but ,every time my husband was downloading stuff to this palm, it always got frezzed. He tried to reset it lots of time but it didn't work at all. It didn't recognize the stylus pen on the screen and it was unable to select or write with the pen. In other words the palm was dead.
