Exceed commercial cinema quality in your own home theater by engaging the internal anamorphic modes of today’s most popular 4K projectors to add 2.6 million more pixels of clarity and 38% more brightness when showing movie and streaming content on a 2.4:1 cinema format screen. Achieve the pinnacle of home theater performance from the most recognized and most recommended anamorphic lens brand used in close to 10,000 of the highest end home theaters throughout the world. Winner of the CEPro Product of Year for both 2019 (Paladin DCR Lens) and 2020 (DCR Direct Attach Lens). | That’s right - over 80% of the most popular movies since 1972 are made in the cinema 2.4:1 aspect ratio for commercial theaters and even today’s streaming shows are migrating to this format. This content is meant and created to be the largest experience in your theater but on a flat panel TV or 16:9 projection system it is actually displayed as the smallest experience with the lowest performance because millions of your projector’s display pixels are turned off to create black bars around the “letterboxed” image. So now today’s most popular projector models also include anamorphic upconversion modes for use with an external anamorphic lens to convert their full performance into the larger 2.4:1 cinema movie format for the highest brightness and detail – all while still providing modes for watching 16:9 content with instant changes at the push of a button. No more black bars. No more wasted performance. No more light spill around your screen and onto your walls. No more moving parts or delays for mode changes. The anamorphic advantage means these projectors can actually deliver better movie performance than you can get in most commercial theaters and certainly higher than you can get with a flat panel TV. See the FAQ section at www.panamorph.com for more details. | Panamorph DCR (Digital Cinema Resolution) lenses come in two forms. The Paladin DCR is a large lens which can be mounted in front of all 2020 and 2021 Sony and JVC 4K projectors using the included XM2 attachment kit. The DCR-S1, DCR-S2 and DCR-J1 are smaller and therefore lower cost lenses providing the exact same performance as the Paladin DCR but are specifically designed to attach directly into the front lens opening of specific Sony and JVC projector models. You may consider the full size Paladin DCR as more “future proof” to work with your next projector (subject to availability and purchase of a new attachment kit) because the lens itself is not projector-specific and its larger aperture will accept a large range of projector beam sizes. The full size Paladin DCR can also be adjusted for older 2.35:1 format screens. | Please note that DCR lenses should only be used in a home theater with a throw ratio of 1.4:1 or above using a flat projection screen with a minimum 1.5” border. The throw ratio is the ratio of throw distance from projector to screen divided by the width of your screen. As your throw ratio increases beyond 1.4:1 you will need less screen border to mask off the slight residual curvature at the edges of your image. | All DCR lens models are available through all Best Buy / Magnolia locations in the United States.
