The batteries were shipped quickly and had a full charge when received. You may say "well duh", but I have bought these same batteries from other vendors that were less than 11 volts on arrival.
It's important to match the Parmak 902 to your Parmak solar fencer. There are after market batteries sold as compatible, but they are not the same amp hour rating. The 902 is 14 amp hours, the closest I could find was 12. We are lucky Walmart carries the actual battery. It's the way to go.
Powerful battery for solar fence

Worked excellent without any modifications
Original battery that came with fence charging unit lasted nearly 10 years. Replacement battery lasted three years. Supposedly exact same battery from exact same company, but a huge difference in battery life.
Battery mfg. Date of 10-16 not very encouraging. A mfg. Date of this year would be acceptable. Sad
