The steamer is well made. When in use, the lid, steamer compartment, and bottom pot all fit snugly, which does not allow wasted steam to escape. The tempered glass top is great. So I can see what is happening inside. While steaming, the copper knob remains cool to the touch-a plus when I open and close the lid to check on desired al dente or doneness. You need to soak the pot's copper bottom in baking soda and water for 20 minutes before you first use it, as per instructions, to neutralize the factory coating. My only criticism, so that the steamer has a small diameter. I like to steam vegetables on a porcelain or pyrex-type dish to retain any liquid and nutrients leached out during steaming. I also like to steam fish, and one of the the best ways to steam fish is on a shallow plate. A small cereal bowl or small plate will fit in the steamer. I can lift the bowl or plate with oven mitts, but I have very little clearance on the sides and some liquid does spill out sometimes out of the plate as I remove the plate or dish. I will purchase those special grasping tongs sold in Asian specialty markets used to lift hot plates or bowls out of steamers. The steamer compartment, however, is deep enough to pack a lot of vegetables. I assume many customers, however, will just steam the vegetables in the steamer compartment and not use a plate or bowl. I just thought the designer could have been a little more generous in terms of diameter size, but I will work around the design flaw and use a small plate or bowl and special tongs when I steam vegetables or fish in the steamer.
I was looking for a nonelectric high quality steam pot. I searched in stores, but unfortunately they don't sell it individually. I have to buy a whole set which I didn't need at this time. So I searched online and I found this amazing small steam pot. I'm very happy to find what I was looking for. Now I can enjoy eating healthy :)
The steamer is built to last and looks good too. Its quality is better than anything else in the market. You cannot go wrong with this product.
