The product was good however not exactly what I needed. Cables are good in snow, but once it freezes you need chains! Also this product comes with 2 cables. Maybe that is obvious to most people, but I could not find it listed in the description how many came in the box. I was able to return the second box I bought, but it can only go to a Walmart with a tire/auto center.
These are easy to use, not too heavy and cumbersome. I live in WA State where we don't usually get a lot of heavy snow, but when we do, these are great to have! I just keep them in my car. Simple to put on and they fit a variety of tire sizes with adjustable notches.
Peerless cables are good cables that could be put on tire easily. The cables come at a very reasonable price compared to other cables in the market
Worked as expected. Got my prius up a snowy, back drive on a ski trip to West Virginia. I can't attest to the durability, as I live in Alabama and only used them for a couple of days. I did find that turning off traction control seemed to help with performance.
I'll admit, I bought these the same night I put 240 lbs of sand in the back of my little Mazda pickup -- it's hard to tell which did more good. I've been using both for weeks now, in a winter worse than any we've seen in Boise in 30 years. I don't doubt the tire cables have done their share in keeping me on the roads. Also, as easy to use as anything like this could be. Recommended.
Overall, well worth the purchase price. Upon initial inspection, they did look very complicated. The instructions were pictorial and I was overthinking how to put them on. My friend, upon looking at the instructions carefully, suggested to follow the instructions! Go figure! When approached using the pictorial instructions the chains (with self tighteners went on surprisingly easily and very quickly! As to performance, I put them on 16 inch 10 ply truck tires.... I was no longer stuck anywhere! I live off road in a snowy region and have them on to drive in to my home and barns. Now here is the good part.... with the built in self tighteners.... it is absolutely simple to take them off and reapply when you need to go off road again!. As with any tire chain system the literature says to keep it under 30 miles per hour. Which I have on paved roads. Even a grandmother can do it! It takes less than three minutes to put them on now. LOL my hands don't even get cold. SIMPLE! Thank You Walmart!
Can't really complain about the chains, they worked fine for a good number of miles. However, a cross piece did catch on a metal shank and break during our drive, so I can't recommend them absolutely.
This one is a useless item. Just only 1 time they broken and my car is still stuck in the snow and the next day there have a rust. Also when I'm back to return they say “because you use that already you can't return it” I'm very disappointed with service.
I used these for the first time on a trip to Lake Tahoe in Jan 2017. They broke halfway through the trip and ruined my mag wheel finish and paint around my wheel well and even higher. It's going to cost over $1500 to repair wheel and paint. I can only post two photos, but there's more damage. My paint was perfect before the trip. I never thought there were low quality chains or cables (my car can only use cables). I would have thought they would have been safety tested. I'm going to file a claim for the repairs!
literally drivng from Denver to Grand junction colorado on 70 in January. snow chains were mandatory by law. u best have a very sympathetic person to tell u how to put them on. returned
