I bought my explorer14.6 canoe from a family member. I haven't been in a canoe in over 40 years and found his canoe great after I put a trolling motor on it it became tippy on one side but I made a pontoon and now I wouldn't trade it for anything. My wife and adult kids love it. It's a great fishing canoe.
Bought this a couple years ago, worked great while the family was small. Easy for my wife and I to put on top of the family van I recommend it.
I bought this from a relative it came with a 30lbs trolling motor. It glides through the water with ease.
I have been vary happy with my pelican explorer. The seats are comfortable and the rod holders are great. I have read many negative reviews about the seats breaking and/or cracking. I have not yet had this issue. Also the cup holders and cooler are a joke. The cup holders are less then an inch deep and way to wide to fit the average cup and the cooler is TINY. Might fit a couple cans and a box or worms. Some assembly is required. The seats, handles, and cooler have to be installed yourself and if installed the right way I don't believe you will have many problems. As far as stability I think its about as stable as any canoe. I have just recently installed a couple homemade outriggers to enhance the stability. I will add that I had to order this canoe and it took quite some time for it to be delivered and when it arrived it had a few fairly deep scratches/gashes already in it. However now that I've been able to use it and modify it to fit my needs I am very happy with the pelican explorer 14.6 DLX.
