Love these bought one need more. They amplify ambient sound and block out gun shots really well.
Works as advertised, and just as everyone says, can be alittle tough at first installing batteries.
I'm on my second pair, about 20 years of use. Couldn't ask for better functioning except it would be nice if the microphones were recessed to reduce wind noise. My one big complaint is that both pair I have had require a sharp edge tool, screwdriver or knife, to remove the ear pads to change batteries. This results in damaging the pads which destroys the waterproof protection from rain and/or sweat.
After using and trying on other brands and models that were cheaper and more expensive that were bought by other friends, these out performed in every way. Some issues that were experienced with other brands was echoing, lack of or over sensitive mics, or complicated controls. This set can be adjusted so to sound as if youre wearing noting at all with NO echo, mics are sensitive but not overly sensitive to pick up wind, and the controls are easy and simple even with gloves on!
I have tried several different types of hearing protection and have been frustrated by almost every pair that I have owned, even those without mics. For full disclosure, the first pair of these that I bought malfunctioned aFter about five minutes of use. The left headphone started buzzing and crackling. So be sure to keep your receipt. Also, these sell at several of my local Walmart stores for about $60 not $99, so you'll definitely want to shop for them in store if at all possible. All that said, these work great, (when they aren't defective). I now own two more pair and use them all the time for general shooting, hunting, and for running machinery. Batteries last for hundreds of hours, which I love. Sound quality is fantastic, and you don't have to have gunfire for them to go quiet. Any loud or sharp noise will do the trick. They seal around my ears is fantastic, and when I turn off the mics I can barely hear a thing.
I recently received two sets of Tactical 6S hearing protection. The instructions for battery installation are very poor and the pieces do not want to separate as explained in the illustration. They are of no use if the batteries cannot be loaded. There are no further instructions on the website.
