I love this Pen + Gear Spiral Journal with a built in solar powered calculator! The design is so pretty! I love the bright colors, the paper is even lined in bright orange! It feels very durable. The front and back covers are nice and thick. The spiral is made well, it doesn't bend easily, and the papers don't get bound up or stuck when you turn pages. It has 192 pages. The paper is good quality, acid free, and I love that it is lined on both sides of each page. There is also a place for the date on each page. The built in calculator is a neat feature. It is great to have a calculator with my notes!
I'm impressed with this journal as soon as I received this yesterday. It is colorful as well as has an embedded solar calculator (no need to worry about dead battery anymore). I am thinking to use this for household budget maintenance, but already my son wants to use this for his maths practice citing the reason of calculator or if not maths, then just as a diary for random work. Well, let's see who would won this journal at the end. Lol. The pages are smooth too. There is one downside with the calculator touchpad keys are that it takes force to enter the digit or operation. Also sometimes the square-root doesn't work in first time giving zero as the square-root of any number. Basic operations work good except pushing hard to get the job done.
I work in a high school cafeteria. We have a student population of around 1200 students. For years the first thing I do after clocking in and pouring my coffee is grab my little notebook, and write my menu items for the day, the number of cases of each product and their corresponding order numbers, and how many servings are in each box. With covid sometimes we order things, but we don't get them. So we have to look at what we have in our freezer inventory and make adjustments. So I spend a lot of time running back to the desk to use the calculator to adjust numbers, double check servings, and calculate nutritional information. This little notebook is perfect. It's the perfect size, and now I just flip the cover over and do my math right there at the work station. Pretty nifty if you ask me. It now stays in my work station drawer right along side the thermometers, pot holders and rubber gloves.
My teen daughter loves this Pen Gear Journal! My daughter is always looking for a calculator....this journal helps that so much. She uses the notebook to work out her math and she always has her calculator. She loves it! This journal is 5 and half inches by 7inches. It has 192 white pages with bright orange ruled lines. The pages have a place to put date in upper left sides of each page. The back and front of journal are pretty colors. The amazing thing about this notebook is the front cover...it is a solar powered calculator with pretty bright buttons. It works perfectly. You kinda have to push a little hard on the buttons but it definitely works great. This is a colorful, fun and functional journal. I highly recommend!!
I use this little notebook and calculator so much more than I ever thought I would. Truthfully, when I first saw it I didn't really think about how much I would use the calculator and I actually got it because I thought it was so cute but I honestly use it quite a bit. Yes, as everyone knows, you could just use a regular calculator or even the one on your phone but when you're just taking quick notes, doing bills or even like me, using it for measurements while doing little construction projects around the house it comes in really handy. It's really nice to not have to find the calculator or even keep my phone on me while doing my projects. I'm so glad I decided to get this and I would highly recommend it for anyone! Super nice quality and kinda cool too..lol
I love this journal! I picked it out for my daughter who is graduating from high school and getting ready to start college and her first job. This journal was perfect because she gets distracted with the financial planners I have purchased in the past. With this journal she can write out and keep track of 1-3 small bills that she has at her age in whatever method of record tracking she chooses as the lines are just blank for hers having the solar calculator or top is the icing on the cake. She can add and subtract her bills with out worry about having her phone or a calculator on her at the moment. The sizing and color of the journal is perfect because she won't loose it and it's not to heavy to throw in her back back and it doesn't take up space on her desk as well. The color attracts her attention so she remembers to look at the journal daily. Super cute journal for young adults and even adults. Lastly, the journal has a a nice thick spiral noun closure so I believe it will last a while and the pages are still easy to turn.
This journal has 192 pages of colorful orange lined paper, a slot for the date on each page also. It's a real deal working calculator I have not had any issues with it yet not working. The front of the journal has an ombré look to it with bright orange and bright yellow calculator buttons. It's a nice compact journal not too big not too small
This is such a unique design! The paper quality is not top notch but it is convenient to have the front cover as a calculator. It is not recommended for kids who are not allowed calculators in class, but great for doing quick calculations while working on our budget for example. The colors are bright and festive. I prefer jewel tones and think it would look nicer if it had some type of geometric shape design. Overall it is a nice combo design.
This is a cute journal. It has a sturdy heavy cover for front and back, lined pages with a space for the date at the top. The color scheme is very vibrant with bright orange on the inside cover. It's got a very 90's feel to it. However I'm only giving this product 3 stars. I would say 4 stars for the aesthetic, but only 2 for the calculator function. The solar powered calculator is a feature I thought would be quite useful, but the buttons are not very responsive. I had trouble trying some simple calculations because the buttons wouldn't register that I had pressed them. Even turning it on or off isn't easy, I have to really press down hard to make it work.
I was hopeful that this little notebook would be good for keeping track of my spending each day. However, the buttons on the calculator are hard to press and don't register more than they do. It is not at all practical as far as the calculator is concerned, but it will still suffice for a notebook.
