Word goes out quickly when I refill the feeders with these sunflower seeds and the green parrots arrive. The cardinals also love them, as well as my other standard backyard birds and of course, the squirrels.
Birds love the Black Oil Sunflower seeds. I mix these with safflower seeds as well. I love that the birds love it <3. Some of the seeds sprouted and my backyard has beautiful Black Oil Sunflowers growing.
Typical black sunflower seeds. The birds (and squirrels!) love it. No filler seeds, so even what's knocked out of the feeders is good. And if something sprouts in the lawn, at least it's a hardy sunflower.
I expect small twigs and debris in the bag but the last bag was at least 1/4 bag of filler seed. If I wanted cheap mixed seed I wouldn't spend over $30 for it. You can see from the photo that the top half of the feeders, filled with the new bag is vastly different from the bottom portion.
Walmart employees refuse to follow very simple delivery instructions. They leave these perishable bags of corn and seeds exposed to the rain. The corn bags are labeled with the caution "This bag is not waterproof." The bags were left at the south man door unsheltered. If they would leave the bags at the front door-the west man door, they would be sheltered from the rain. This resulted in some of the corn (about 2 bags worth) ruined by moisture.
Full of wood chips that plug up bird feeder holes. Bought from here before with no,problem, but this time it is terrible.
this has been my go-to brand for black oil sunflower seeds but this time the whole bag was coated with fine wood shavings and had so many pieces of wood and stem that it literally coated my pants. don't waste your money, invest your time and research other brands.
Seeds are smaller and thinner looking than the bag I purchased from Chewy.com. The birds are going thru the seed so quickly because it's mainly shells. I will go back to purchasing from Chewy instead. I also purchased a window style birdfeeder and used same day pick up from In Store stock. As soon as we lifted the box up you could hear all the broken pieces sliding around. Not cool WalMart, not cool!! I ended up getting a nice window feeder from Amazon. See attached photo
The percentage of sunflower plant stems and pods mixed in with the seeds is too much. It used to be a rarity to see any debris. Now it's remarkable. Where is quality control??
I've been buying this seed for two years and have had no problem, however, today I received a bag and it is half full of debris! If this is the new standard for Pennington, I will find another supplier. I don't even want to give this to my birds tomorrow.
