We all have bought the big bulk birdseed to save per pound, but usually it's 80% the small tan seeds they eat around or pick up and toss to the ground. I have a window feeder with 3 sections. I left The outside two with the "bulk" food and put this Premium good in middle. But he end of my work shift it was almost gone! Downside the bluejays and cardnials I wanted to attract more of came but were bully's to the little birds. I will buy a large container and mix the two seeds hope they can all live in harmony.
After running out of bird seed and unable to repurchase the previous kind I was buying, I found this Pennington Wild Bird Premium Select Blend Feed and Seed, 20 lb. and have been very impressed overall. There are chickadees, cardinals, robins, and blue jays that visit the bird feeder frequently (unfortunately I have only been able to capture the two different ones in the photos attached). All seem to enjoy this feed because the feeder doesn't stay full for long (maybe a few days). I feel great providing quality food for the birds.
Attracts a wide variety of finches, scarlet finches, blue jays, robins and today I saw the cardinals enjoying the food too.
The image does not represent a true representation of the actual product. There is very little black oil sunflower seed. However overall, this is a good mix of quality seed.
The birds seem quite pleased with the variety of seeds in this product. I, however, are not too pleased with the amount of sticks. I had purchased a cheaper brand and moved to Pennington thinking there would be fewer sticks. Nope, still quite a few. What's the issue with the sticks? The birds can't eat them and they get caught in the feeder.
I maintain year round bird feeder access to multiple birds that feed daily in the front yard of my West Central Florida home. I recommend to others that enjoying multiple breed bird watching enthusiasts. The 20 lb. bag adds convenience when compared to other bird seed suppliers with significantly smaller weight blends.
This looks nothing like the picture. Mostly consists of filler seed. Very disappointed in quality for the price.
Product is not as pictured. Less sunflower nuts, and safflower but a lot of millet, milo and fine seed. Their photo is deceptive. See their photo on left and what I got on right (mostly fine seed with little sunflower and safflower seeds. My visiting birds want the bigger seeds, not the fine stuff.
Lots of pieces of sticks or something in every scoop. Photo is what I fished out of one scoop of seed.
