GETTING READY TO ORDER ANOTHER ONE! BIRDS ARE LOVING IT! ITS SMELLS SO GOOD OF CEDAR ALSO! VERY PLEASED WITH IT....VERY WELL BUILT AND A THICK ROPE FOR HANGING IT SECURE OUTSIDE.
We had several bird feeders that were recently ruined when a black bear showed up in our back yard and pulled them apart. Walmart was the only place we found the same kind and for the size of the feeders, the price couldn't be beat. We did wait until we thought the bear was gone before putting them up. But alas, the birds are happy again. Thanks for Walmart.com
I very much like the sloping roof that covers the indented, large seed holder. The glass that covers the two sides helps protect the the feed from the rain and wind and nosey squirrels. On each side of the feeder are suet holders. The feeder is large enough so there'll be little squabbling among themselves.
This bird feeder is one of the best I have ever owned. It is so sturdy and it holds about 10 birds at a time without fighting (After 10 they tend to fight for space). The suet holders on the side is a life saver because they seem to take turns between the seed and the peanut butter. I only put 5 lbs in at a time to be safe.
My circumstances have left me with hardly any money for too many "extras", but I love having a bird feeder. I love all critters and it's such a relaxing time to watch the birds (yes, and you young squirrels that terrorize my feeder too!)...I've been looking for a LONG TIME for one that I can afford. I can't believe how much they cost!!...Well, good old Walmart came to my rescue...I cannot believe the price of this bird feeder!! It's bigger than I thought it would be, and I love that I can put the suet on the sides....and trust me, it durable! This morning the squirrels had the roof off, and one of the plex-glass (?) sides almost completely off...I ran them off, put it back together, and it looks GREAT!! LOVE IT BUY IT!!
This bird feeder is easy to refill. I've had lots of little birds use it but haven't seen any bigger birds use it yet.
This is my second one of these bird feeders. It is very well priced and I love that it is cedar and has the capacity for two suet cakes. However, the plastic "window" panels on either side of the feeder have always cracked after one season and without them, the feeder is useless! We live where it gets extremely cold so the fluctuating temperature seems to weaken the plastic. It is so thin that filling the feeder to the top "bows" the plastic outward. I continue to replace it with the same feeder because the price can't be beat but if you can't be bothered, get a feeder with thicker plastic, or even glass sides.
To save time I ordered this online. When opened for Father's Day the feeder's wood on the bottom was split all the way across the feeder. I had to take it back to the store for a refund and then looked for one in the store. If the wood had not been split it was a very pretty feeder.
WORST BIRD FEEDER I EVER OWNED, I HAVE 3 ON THE SIDE OF HOUSE AND TWO IN BACK, THIS IS THE ONLY ONE THE BIRDS, AND SQUIRES DO NOT USE, HAVE FILLED THE OTHER ONES 5 TIMES SINCE THE PURCHASE OF THIS 1. THANK GO AS I ORDERED 2 AND SENT ONE BACK!!!!!!! GH
Very cheaply made Chinese junk. Front railings holding seed on platform were both loose and falling off. I had to glue them and put additional tacks in them to secure them. There was no blocks at the end of the seed rails to keep seeds from coming out and falling directly onto the ground. I had to cut and glue small blocks of wood at the ends of both rails on both sides to keep seeds from coming out and falling to the ground. I would never buy this article again!!!! PURE JUNK
