I am very happy with the looks of this birdhouse. The wood is in perfect condition and fragrant. The design is really appealing. I mistakenly thought there would be decorative wooden bird on top, but the picture must have been of the house with a real bird. I ordered a similar larger birdhouse at the same time and was not happy with the irregularities in the wood. I'd like it even better if there was a perch.
THE BIRDHOUSE, CAME WITH A NICE ROPE, IT WAS EXACTLY AS PICTURED AND THE PRICE WAS MUCH CHEAPER THAN OTHER WEBSITES. ARRIVAL TIME --EXCELLENT!!!!! THE BIRDHOUSE ARRIVED ONE DAY BEFORE ESTIMATED ARRIVAL DATE. ONE SUGGESTION I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE; I WISH WALMART CARRIED MORE BIRDHOUSES, ALSO, IT WOULD BE BENEFICIAL TO THE CUSTOMERS IF WALMART DISPLAYED DIFFERENT SIZE HANGING HOOKS WITH THEM. FOR YEARS I HAVE HAD GREAT SUCCESS ORDERING FROM WALMART SITE TO STORE.
I used to have small birdhouse where there was a female and male. They reproduced baby eggs and one day there were small babies flying with parents. I loved it. I now enjoy this birdhouse. A friend commented on it and I bought a second as a gift for her. I love the chirping and seeing the nest making and then the babies. There is a return the following year of new birds --- I do not know if the same birds come back. It is also nice for small children to see.
This little bird house is perfect for my garden. I ran out of room this spring and I know these will be a big hit with the wrens and other small birds.
Since we have summer year round here in Southern Ca, [ especially this year] I've decided to turn my little Crape Mertle tree into a sort of a outdoor aviary for the wild song birds in our area.I ordered two of these bird houses to hang on it along with some feeders.I found these bird houses extremely solid and of good size. I just added some lint from the clothes dryer to inside the houses for nesting material and now I'm in waiting for Spring .
great wren house. well constructed. the rope is long enough to wrap around some branches and hang perfectly level,a little trimming may be necessary.
This bird house is exactly what I've been looking for. I've had it hanging in my yard for about a week or two waiting for a mama bird. The roof lifts to allow amply room to clean out an old nest once the baby birds have grown up. It can be hung easily by the rope attached.
Love the cedar. Already hung in my lilac bush.
Fell apart after only a month. Avoid.
Aside from being a bit different than expected (the sides are open to the elements about an inch below the roofline -- I would think this would invite predators), the most important thing was that two out of three that I ordered were badly damaged. One had a big chunk of the room broken off (that was loose in the box), and the other had a big crack in the roof. I brought all three back. The one with the broken piece was likely damaged during shipping (the two damaged ones were together in one box with no packing material around them!), but the one with the crack may have come that way from the manufacturer. I ended up ordering a nice hand-made one from Etsy.
