[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this Vitamix cup adapter to more easily make salad dressings and sauces. I LOVE IT! Now, the ingredients don't splatter all over the bigger jar and get wasted. It makes SUPER CREAMY salad dressings and sauces. I couldn't be happier!
I got this for myself for my birthday a few months ago (I actually bought it in March 2020, right before the pandemic quarantine, but didn't open it nor use it until after my birthday) and it works perfectly fine to me. It works as I hoped it would. I'll admit, I was a bit worried after reading some of the negative reviews here and another online retailer, complaining about leaking and not blending well, but so far, I have not had that experience. This Personal Cup Adapter seems to work really well and as described. I was so relieved the first time I used it! I'm able to make a quick batch for myself using my Vitamix 7500. The photos attached are from today....I follow the provided instructions that recommend how to load the cup, which is a slightly different order than loading the full-sized Vitamix container, because you're going to be flipping the cup upside down, compared to the regular container. But I know I haven't followed the order to the 'T' all the time and it still works fine. Now, if I were to overload the adapter cup like I have a habit of doing with my full sized Vitamix container, I can certainly see running into the problem of some ingredients not getting down to the blade. I leave about an inch to and inch and a half empty at the top of the cup when I'm filling it up. I first loaded the pieces of fruit: pineapple, melon, watermelon, and plum, followed by fresh baby spinach, then Crystal Light Green Tea Raspberry for the liquid. As I usually do with my full sized Vitamix container, depending on my ingredients, I often do a couple of Pulses first, just to break things down a little initially, but then I'll start on low and gradually increase the speed. I only ran this batch for about 45 seconds because I like my juices to have a little bit of texture, but everything blended fine. Had I let it run a minute or so, the consistency would have been even finer. If anyone experiences leaking, I would recommend just making sure the red gasket is seated evenly, which it seems to do automatically, meaning that it doesn't seem to twist, but just in case it may shift when you clean off the adapter's blade area, just make a note of it the next time you use your adapter.
I brought my vitamix machine about 5yrs ago. But I wanted a small one for my shakes didn't want to buy another machine. So I brought the attachment for the motor and the 2 cups the best. Now I have shake on the go!
I have an older Vitamix and I was excited to learn that I could purchase an attachment to make one smoothie. The kids have grown and left home, so I don't need to make a large amount of fruit smoothies anymore. Vitamix is a wonderful, quality product! We have one in our home, one in the motorhome and we purchased one for our daughter.
I absolutely love this product. Are use it every day. If I had anything negative to say it would be that the shield on it is a little bit too long. It makes it a little bit hard to get it off.
I love it for everyday smoothies because my kids can customize their own drinks. No longer do we have to fight over whether we are having a green smoothie or a pink one – we can have both! The best part of having the personal cup adapter is just having extra blending containers on hand. When I'm working in the kitchen I am always juggling a few different recipes. Tonight I was making almond milk but also needed to whip up some bread crumbs. It was great to not have to pause in between to wash dishes. (Speaking of which, these cups are dishwasher safe.) #lifesaver We will be introducing solid foods to out baby in a couple of months and these cups will be just the right size for blending up veggies, etc for him. I have had my new Vitamix cups for a week, and so far I have made ranch dressing, breadcrumbs, multiple smoothies, faux frappuccinos, & almond milk.
The personal cup and adapter is a great option if you dont want to use the large blender cup but if you dont tight it well there is a chance for leackage which is a nono for us. We wash the adapter right after every use and I dont know if other have experience the same but under it, after some time food residues star to build under the blade are and it is impossible to clean it unless you remove the screws. See pictures to understand what I'm saying. The thing is that Vitamix can send you a new one for free if your product is under the 3 year warranty.
The bottom of the cup is too narrow. If using frozen pineapple chunks for example, you can't put much in there. I loved that this is dishwasher safe but realize I prefer the wide base of my Vitamix Pro300 series (the only thing I hate about that is dirtying up two separate things and not being able to put the mixer in the dishwasher.) I regret spending so much on this product because I'm back to my original way of making smoothies anyway.
Terrible design! The cup is oddly shaped. Its tall, narrower on the bottom and sloping to wider on top where it screws into the adapter making it difficult to handle and lock into the adapter piece. it looks big but holds barely what you'd expect. This adapter is a nightmare making me hate using my vitamix everyday for my morning smoothie. I actually dread the thought of having to struggle with this thing! The adapter makes zero sense! Its bulky and difficult to screw the cup into. because its so big makes attaching it on top of the cup unnatural and top heavy. The ribber ring in this piece does not lay flat causing it to not attach properly and leak smoothie through the holes on the bottom of the adapter which also make no sense because it doesnt help in the cleaning process. Its a bacteria trap and I had to buy a bottle brush to try to get in there and around the rim where the crappy rubber ring is. this thing is horrible. Dont buy it. And for the price?? youve done your loyal customers and the Vitamix brand name a huge injustice with passing this thing through quality control..
This product is imposible to clean… you can not separate the plastic guard from the blades base and over time it will accumulate residues… I understand that the previous Blending Cup and Bowl Starter Kit is a retired product but I would love to buy that instead…
