Pros I find this TV just excellent. Picture is clear and 4 speakers reveal a realistic sound. Cons You need a cable HDMI to VGA/DVI to connect your computer with this TV

This television has worked flawlessly from the first day I got it. The setup directions were very easy to follow. The size of the tv was perfect for the room that I placed it in. This model, having 4 speakers @ 30 watt total, has excellent sound. It only took a little tweaking with the 5 band equalizer to get the sound that I was looking for. The picture on this set is absolutely beautiful! I could not have asked for a better TV. I did a lot of shopping around and a lot of internet research before I landed on this particular model. It has more than an adequate number of HDMI hookups (4) so I was able to hook up all my accessories. Again....perfect TV for a perfect price.
We've had this Philips set for just a few weeks and are extremely pleased with it - so far. We had a 42" Philips plasma that died recently (thank goodness we had an extended warranty) so the warranty company paid us more than we ended up paying for this LCD version. The initial set up was a "piece of cake" - just following the on-screen instructions and the picture just jumps out at you (connected to the DISH box via HDMI cable) - the HD channels are beyond clear / bright / almost 3D looking. And running this set through our high definition DVD player is WOW. We did purchase a 5 year extended warranty for this set (online for a very reasonable fee). We do not think anyone would not be pleased with this set; the remote is a little on the "inexpensive" but we use the DISH remote anyway.
My wife (God rest her soul) who passed 2 yrs ago purchased this as a Christmas gift for me in December 2009. The TV gave me one problem in 2016. It would turn off on its own after watching about 4 hours. I noticed it was extremely hot and that's when it would shutoff. I had it in a corner of the room where there was very little ventilation. I placed it in a different spot where there was good ventilation and never had the problem again.
The television is excellent; everything I was hoping for. Amazing picture and fantastic built in sound. Only two minor drawbacks for me. One is the remote. Even with new batteries it needs to be facing directly at the sensor... perhaps I've become too accustomed to the Sony PS3 bluetooth remote. The other is the volume control. It takes a ridiculous amount of time to increase or decrease the volume; a pain when you want to quickly reduce the volume without muting. Overall though, I'm very happy with my purchase.
First HDTV. Pleased with the product. Easy to set up. Satisfied with picture. Really pleased with the capability to send video and audio from PC to screen. Would recommend it.
The quality of the display is much better than I expected for the cost. The unit was up and operation 20-minutes after removing it from the box!
Who designed a television that has speakers in the back of the TV? Great Picture.. BUT The speakers are facing the wall, you have got to be kidding me. !! The wall we have the TV setting against leads to the kitchen and people cannot hear themselves talk in the kitchen because the TV must be turned up so loud to hear it, it makes it too loud in the kitchen. If you need me to help design a tv, let me know.
I received this TV as a gift last year. The person who gave it to me had bought it a few months before and gave it to me when my old TV died. After a few months of using it, the TV would only turn on occasionally, sometimes after mutilple tries. After a while, it completely refused to turn on. I called Philips customer service and they helped me reset the TV. Everything worked well for another few months but then I started not seeing pictures when I turned the TV on. The sound, however, was fine. I would unplug and turn it back on a few times before getting any picture. Lately, I cannot get any pictures no matter how many times I turn on and off the TV. The sound is still fine. Philips had always equated quality for me but I am very disappointed.
