This product regularly drops the streaming capability forcing you to restart the app. I can understand that it may not be logical to expect the hardware to transmit video uninterrupted for an unlimited amount of time, but it should definitely NEVER, EVER drop the audio...ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT, WHEN YOU "MONITOR" your baby. I hope that this is a situation that can be resolved with some updates to the app and/or the In.Sight website side of things to ensure the audio doesn't drop. In short, I will likely be forced to buy a cheap audio monitor to use during the night rather than depend on this camera .
Going back to the store to buy something else. I have a high bandwidth wireless network and the "HD" stream could not keep up with my mobile devices. I'm fairly certain this is because the actual camera hardware is not high performing. An easy way to test how poor it actually performs is to pull up your Bonjour bookmarks in Safari, click on the Monitor and watch how slowly it returns.
This can be a good product but it defeats the core purpose of its design. The APP crashes without warning you, it simply terminates the APP. The alerts are too much and inconsistent. I get a log of email and alert during the night and I can't jump with every sound to check and see if the APP has crashed and the baby is crying its eyes out. This is not a baby monitor. It might be good for home surveillance not monitoring small babies.
I have this product since my baby boy was born in September. Every time I open the app on my ipad it takes at least 15 mins to connect. Sometimes even longer or just fail.
Bought 5/19/2013. Set up at home and still yet to receive a constant picture. It streams for about 2 seconds and "loads" for over 35 minutes and times out. I have super fast fiber optic wifi, still no luck. I ignored other bad reviews hoping they had slow wifi and that was the problem. I will return tomorrow. Why would you not make sure a product works before releasing? Disappointing all around. Great idea if it works.
Never seems to work.. Ive tried installing it at least 50 times till now.. And it still wont work... Ive tried it on ios and android and it wont work on either... I regret not reading any of the reviews before purchasing it. DO NOT BUY AS IT'S A TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY
This product is total junk. It keeps on freezing and when in night mode it keeps on blacking out. Takes forever to reload, if not it crashes. Uninstalled and reinstalled probably 30x now, I'm giving up on this junk. It got to the point where we thought it was our internet, but we went and got one of the best wireless router and have high speed internet, so that was not the case. It's just the camera does not work. I really don't recommend this product for anyone.
Despite numerous re-installs of both the camera and the app, the functionality is not reliable at all, which renders this product utterly useless. A very poor choice of me and a quite expensive lesson learned. Do not buy this product.
Data stream can be very delayed or locked but even more worrying is that it gives a time that indicates it is live/functioning when it isn't necessarily live (i checked by moving the camera to a different room and was still showing the old room)
The software is useless! Times out all the time, constantly freezing, way too many bugs with very little support. I've called both philips and yoics(software company) with very little help and promises of a software update that will fix it. Philips says it's the software companys problem which is true but you can't use the camera without the software so it's useless. Absolute waste of money!!!
