Good shaver but pricey

THis is a good workig unit, but very pricey for what it does which is just shave your face. My last couple Norelco's lasted easily ten years so in the grand sceme it's not that much. Pro's: Convenient to use, cleaning system works nicely. Shave, put it in the cleaner, hit the button and walk away. Shaver works pretty well but not really any better than other norelco's I have had. It's a bit less abusive to my face when I skip a couple days. Older models would yank real hard if you had any long scruff. Con's: Cleaning system value is debatable. Works just about as good (but not quite) if you quickly rinse it off so that split second convenience is really costs you a premium. Bulky to travel with. This shaver is even bigger than my last Norelco so don't plan on packing it into a real tiny toiletry case. It comes with it's own hard travel case which is anything but small One really very important item. As said in the instructions, never put anything but the Norelco cleaning solution in the cleaner, and don't try to wash any of the components other than the bottom cup. Take my word for it, it will stop working.

I got this product a week ago, or so. So far I love it. The only problem I have seen is that when cleaning is complete, which takes about two hours, it starts to recharge the shaver. Well They say to only charge the shaver when the indicator shows in red, to preserve max battery life. Well you need to be there after the two hours to stop it from recharging. Which isnt that big of a deal. The shve is great. I have always used norelco and I will continue. A little bit oh the high side as far as price, but I am satisfied.

Absolutely the closest shave I have ever had with an electric razor and I've used Remington and Norelco electric razors for 50 years! I love the ability to clean it with hot water daily then use the cleaning station weekly. I switched from a Remington 9500 because the new cleaner formula is perfumed and is causing an allergic reaction on my face. Three weeks with the Arcitec and no problems, just very close shaves, even with a 5 day growth. My face feels much smoother than after shaving with the 9500 with new cutter blades installed.

Feels Like Heaven

I grow a very thick beard very fast but the hardest thing about shaving is that i have sensitive skin. I have to shave close every day because I'm in the military and therefore, tend to often break out with pseudo folliculitus barbae. That means that even though all the bumps aren't ingrown hairs my face reacts in a way that closely resembles them. I had to go over my face two or three times for a close shave but this razor was so subtle with my skin that it felt like heaven compared to other razors. It works well with the contours of my face too. I frequently used this razor in training environments where i could not plug it in or wash and rinse it out. The battery life was outstanding! The ability to open the heads and dump most of the hairs out was done effectively and easily without the use of a faucet or brush. It's Very durable. After a year and halfway into a deployment to the Middle East, It fell from six feet down to a concrete floor and all that happened was a head popped out of place.

Expensive - but a good razor

I have never used an electric razor before - with that said after using this razor for about 4-5 weeks I have quickly become used to the feeling of this shave. Its no where near as close as a regular razor but the shave does last longer. Cleaning is easy. Overall its a good razor but slightly over priced.

The shave is good. It seems that the product runs at a slow pace. Maybe not what I'm used to. My biggest concern is the cleaning process. You are not supposed to charge the battery until it's close to used up but the cleaning process goes right into "charge" if you don't take it out of the cleaner. It takes a couple of hours to change and you don't always get back to it right away. Thus it's charging when it doesn't need to. Seems like it should shut off after cleaning and only charge when manually turned onto "charge"

Poor Quality

After 2 shaves, started making noise and one blade spinning very slow; Norelco said shaving head was bad; after 4 weeks and repeated conversations with Customer service, they may, as a one-time concession, send a new head -- it turns out the head is not under warranty, and they recommend a new one evey year. That is too much money, risk, and hassle. Safety razor and blades cost much less, do a better job and is just about as fast.

Disappointing product

The problem with the shaver was the need to clean daily in a special cleaning solution. I am not the kind of person to add extra work to my morning ritual. As far as the quality of the shave is concerned, it shaved as well as the Norelco (when it was new) that I was attempting to replace.

This is without a doubt the worse thing I have EVER purchased. I have an old $10 Remington that I wasn't happy with and wanted to replace it. So I bought this razor and it does NOT cut hardly at all. I could shave all day with it and still couldn't get all of the hair on face neck or scalp. This razor is highly overated. DO NOT BUY THIS RAZOR. SAVE YOUR MONEY. I am a single dad raising 2 girls was wanting to save money from having to buy blades. But have gone back to blades and this razor is collecting dust.

This razor has too many commercials on TV about how great it is. I could shave for an hour and not get all the hair on my face. It claims to be great for the neck area. Does not cut well or even at all. Huge let down. Do not buy this razor. Leaves your neck hairy and irritated....
