I've used these traps now for a couple of weeks and have achieved ten tripped traps and ten dead mice. I've been placing the bait of peanut butter mixed with bird seed under the bait holder between it and the wooden base. The instructions indicated to put bait above holder but I didn't read that till later after I bought more of these nice traps. I'll continue to place bait below holder since it is working so well. Load bait, then set trap. Hold from back in case it releases so you don't get pinched. Springs are very strong and traps are the old standard. Very happy.
These are the best traps too buy.
I used these mouse traps in the hen house, They only lasted a few snaps and the staples came out. And they are not near sensitive enough. The bait is always taken without being tripped.
First difficult to setup. Once we set this up - mouse just trapped first night itself, but ran away. I saw all the blood around the trap but mouse managed to move out. Very awkward situation.... :(
A mouse ate the bait off the trap twice in one night. After we spent almost half an hour setting it up. Don't waste your money.
Two of these broke just setting them up. The other two fell apart not long after that. They were useless.
