When i first saw how small it was, i thought to myself, how could that be so powerful? Well, i couldn't wait for it to get dark so i could check it out and it is perfect. The big power inside that little light is magnificent. i have to ride in the dark sometimes and this product lights up the way and the flasher mode is great to let people know you are there. i love it and have reccommened it to many of my friends. thank you very much for my safer night ride.
I just got it, and it is still winter here and need another month to start up biking. The ad was fine, except, it didn't mention the type of batteries needed. Actually it needs four AAA's.. I have little room on my handlebars, but it fit with no problem. I like the quick release, since most of my biking is during day. I bought this for the rare occasion that I am stuck in the dark. For some reason, I thought the blinking light was red. It's the regular light beam that blinks. For what reason this might be needed, I'm not sure.
Bright, powerful, easy to fix to the handlebars without tools. Battery replacement requires no tools. This unit takes 4 AAA batteries: for me this is a positive. I use rechargeables and prefer the lasting power of four to the fairly common two in many similar lights. Comment: the light produces a relatively narrow, bright blue-white center area surrounded by a large, dim flood area.
This light was easy to install on my handle bars and it slides off so you can bring it with you and it comes in handy as a flashlight too . I put 4 AAA rechargable batteries in it . The light beam is bright and it makes you visible and gets the attention of drivers. The pulse mode is also good for getting the attention of drivers.
GREAT QUALITY, EXCELLANT LIGHT
GAVE THIS TO MY 8-YEAR OLD GRANSON...LOVED IT..WENT ON THE BIKE IMMEDIATELY..HIS MOM SAID IT WAS USED XMAS DAY..MAKES HIM MORE VISABLE EVEN ON A DREARY DAY..A MUST HAVE..
The Bell "Platinum iPulse LED Bike Light" is a well-designed product that compares favorably with others brands costing twice as much. I purchased it at WalMart.com at a sale price of approximately $15, which was $5 off the regular price, and it seems to perform as well as comparable units selling at bike shops for $40 or more. The unit operates on four AAA-sized batteries that are easily installed by simply twisting off the lens piece. The product casts a beam of light that "spots" brightly about 30 feet in front of the bike, but diffusely illuminates an area roughly 12 feet wide by 100 feet long and shows against reflective surfaces (such as road signs or runners' reflective shoe trim) at even much farther distances. The light features both constant and pulse beams, and the unit is weather resistant. Although the photo of the light in the online catalog appears to suggest that installation may require removal of the handlebar grip, brake, and shifter assemblies, that is not the case. Instead, the light uses a C-type clamp that easily mounts on various sized handlebars and there is a rubber sleeve that can be used with very small diameter bars. This unit is well built, looks sharp and, most importantly, projects an ample beam of light.
a good product good at night
I bought this light to ride to and from work 1 hour each way. About half of the ride is in the dark and this light is adequate for the job. It has two modes strobe and constant. I use the strobe while the sun is out. Probably not world class, but not bad for the money.
It's bright and leaves a circle of light on objects at quite a distance, but don't depend on it to light your actual path. It's more like a small spotlight, and is bright enough to catch (and perhaps blind) the eye of approaching riders/drivers. But it doesn't cast a long swath of light on the roadway in front of you, so choose your route accordingly. Easy to slide on/off its clip.
