We love Play-Doh, and this sounded great. But this set doesn't work very well. The Play-Doh Plus is softer than regular Play-Doh (that's really the inly difference) so it feels nice and is fun to play with. And it's fine for cookie cutters and rolling, etc. But the main part of this set--the extruder with the decorating tips--the most important thing since this is what you're supposed to be able to decorate everything with--stinks. More Play-Doh ends up stuck inside the tube, or stuck to the plunger, than what actually comes out looking like frosting. And it's difficult for a child to clean the Play-Doh out of there, so plan on staying close by so that you can clean that darn thing out over and over. And over. I paid less than $10 for this, and got 6 colors of Play-Doh Plus, which my son does like to play with. So overall, for this price it's not that bad. But if you're looking for a great toy that is going to make beautifully frosted cakes, don't buy this. We have a lot of different Play-Doh sets, and this is probably the one we're going to get tired of first, because it really doesn't do much and works so poorly. If you can find Play-Doh Plus sold on it's own, that would probably be a better idea.
I am not a fan of this play doh plus. It is sticky and crumbles into what seems like a million pieces after only a few minutes of play. The play factory itself is not that great either. My son just got this set for Easter two days ago and we're both already very frustrated with it. The play doh plus does goes through the plunger quite well once you stuff a bunch of small pieces in it. But the plunger itself is a pain. More play doh oozes into the curly cues of the plunger than actually comes out. My son was so excited to play with this then I turn my head for a few minutes and come back to find him with one small ball of play doh left and the rest of it in tiny pieces all over the floor, his clothes, and all over the factory. Like previous reviewer mentioned, you can't just make a ball of this to clean up the rest like normal play doh. You have to pick up tiny piece after tiny piece. And it does come off clothing easy either! Unless you have a place to give them a thorough shake to get it off..that might work. The cake cutter thingy is also hard for kids (and even myself sometimes) to get the cutters to snap on. Needless to say, I am not a very happy momma and am very disappointed with play dohs production of a product like this. We'll stick with the regular old play doh please.
The new play doh plus is too soft it sticks to everything including the plunger thing that it comes with I have four girls 4,10,13,15 and none of them liked it My girls love the regular play doh and play with it several times a week but say this is the worst toy ever
