Fills your world with its wide, dynamic soundstage and its capability to effortlessly achieve truly staggering volume levels. The LSiM705 includes a 5 1/4-inch mid-woofer of lightweight super cell aerated polypropylene for smooth blending with its dual 5x7-inch Cassini oval subwoofer radiators enhanced by Polk's patented PowerPort® bass venting.
Accurate dialogue The ring radiator tweeter features several improvements from the version in the earlier LSi line. A slight reshaping of the tweeter's bullet-shaped phase plug allows it to move even farther out of the baffle, while a redesigned diaphragm has made the tweeter even more efficient. Advanced driver material The original LSi speakers featured a light, stiff mineral-filled polypropylene cone that was "puffed up" with injected air to form a honeycomb-like structure. The new super cell aerated polypropylene uses larger "puffed cells" to create a cone material that's thicker yet lighter than the original. Dual woofers The oval shape helps them produce tight low-frequency music and movie sounds while maintaining a narrow cabinet width. Plus, each woofer has its own PowerPort® — a unique Polk design that positions specially designed "cones" at the mouth of the bass ports to direct moving air to eliminate bass-stealing turbulence.

I bought these about 1 year ago and have been very happy. I currently have it setup with a PrimaLuna Dialogue preamp and Parasound amp, Marantz SACD player. Vs. RTi12 the human female voice is more transparent, with more detail, and the highest notes go higher; in short, more like being there. I'm a big fan of Polk, and these are the best from them I've owned. Finish is like a baby grand piano, a definite add to ambiance in looks too.
I've been committed to the absolutely amazing Polk Audio sound solutions for quite some years. I was thinking of going to Martin Logan, yet I stopped and thought it through. Why on earth would I choose to switch from a long standing company that has my best interest, doesn't charge a fortune to acquire premium sound as well as beautiful columns all around. My theatre systems throughout the residence is all Polk Audio equipment, and performance is unsurpassed by anyone I've ever chose to run with. ...choose wisely. I know I'll never look back.
With Polk's blessing, I drive them with a Crown 2000W amplifier with the Polk powered subwoofer. Polk told me "if you ears can take it, the 705s can take." I've never been happier with a purchase.
These speakers are excellent. Crystal clear highs, mids and lows. Do not hesitate to buy, you will not be disappointed.
I've owned these speakers for almost a year now, and they just seem to get better as they break in more. The design is fantastic, not only from a function standpoint, but these speakers are downright beautiful to look at. I have compared these to similarly priced speakers from other companies, and while I won't say it wasn't close, these were my favorite choice. I use AudioQuest wires and strongly recommend to others BTW to minimize signal loss.
I have owned many good speakers in the last 40 years - Bose 901, JBL, Martin Logan, B&W to name a few. Since my purchase of the Polk LSiM 705s I think I'm done speaker swapping. Polk's LSiM 705s have exceeded my expectations in sound reproduction, build quality, and dollar value. One thing about these speakers - they love power- I do not recommended receivers that put out 40-50 watts per channel, yes they will play at that wattage but you will not reach optimum performance. Using a 100 to 300 watts per channel separate amplifier is the way to go. I cant say enough about the overall quality of the 705s, Polk really nailed it, they have become the best looking audiophile eye candy in my living room. You really need to see them to know what I'm talking about. When I started speaker shopping I had a generous budget to work with. I auditioned many different speakers at a number of audio stores in my area but no one had the LSiM 705s. Luckily a friend of mine already had a pair of 705s and over the next 2 weeks I found my self comparing other speakers to his. I finally purchased the 705s directly from Polk and couldn't be happier, plus I have money left over to upgrade more of my stereo equipment. If you are looking to upgrade your stereo at a reasonable price you can't go wrong with the LSiM 705s.
