My first poulan was 16". Got a surprising 15 years before she gave out. Figured I go up a step with an 18" and 10 more cc. Was disappointed at first. For the first 5 or 6 cuts on a fallen 14" dia. tree, it bogged down and cut out. Kept working with it and now it cranks on 2nd/3rd pull and hasn't bogged down yet on 5 more same size trees. I will agree that these chains are not as sturdy needing sharpened only after about 40 full cuts of same size tree I hope I can get another 15+yrs out of this one. Friends said go with a Stihl but I just don't see the reason to spend another $200 when 15 yrs, I think, is pretty darn good.
