I researched husqarvana and the poulan brand manufactured by them. Read reviews about how the poulan parts are pretty much the same thing. Most important to me was a trimmer the started by the 3rd pull. This one is a good one. The build quality is engineered for a quick assembly but solid, it feels more expensive. Bought from walmart because it was cheaper than amazon or eBay. I have 3rd of acre and I needed a powerful trimmer, thick line, bump feed, straight shaft, metal construction. .
I took it out of the box it was easy to put togather and I started it up right away and it ran very good on one tank of gas for several hrs non stop and the weeds were 2feet high I highly advise people to purchase this product its was and still is the greatest I had a john deere before this nothing but prolbems this is a good solid unit and you can buy any parts you need at walmart lowes home depo or local lawn mower shop I would buy another one in a minute
This has been a wonderful product. I was able to start and operate this with ease and I have an issue with my hands... No problems with this and it glides across the grass and does a great job.
I bought this weedeater at the beginning of spring and it surprised me how well it performed. Starts really easy, unlike cheaper brands, you to pull and pull. I have only used it for one season but I recommend it!
Had it going ten minutes out of the box. Had my 32 year old daughter use it, who has never used a gas trimmer before and she had no problem with it. Also changing string was no problem
Bought this trimmer to keep minor weeds down in yard. Works fine with that but shaft short so I have to bend over to get the job don ( am 6' tall). Liked the fact that you could get edge attachment for it which I also ordered. It worked great and really made the yard look good. Unit is heavier than my old one but It will not be used that often that this is a problem
Have only used it twice, but so far am very pleased. Starts easy and very easy to use. Seems to have plenty of power. Had a Troy Built and very displeased. It was diffulct to start and then would only run in the choke position. Also have a Poulan blower and chain saw. Very satisfied with how they operate.
I found this straight trimmer harder to use than the curved head style trimmer. The Walmart ad also states that it comes with a optional head of your choice but ther wasn't an option when I ordered it. I thought maybe a coupon came in the box or instructions or on the Poulan web site but nothing. Very dissapointing.
Trimmer works fine for grass trimming, however I bought this with the hedge trimmer attachment to trim my tall shrubs with. It barely reaches a little more than my regular handheld hedge trimmer and therefore is no great advantage. It does work fine, but just does not reach as long as I expected.
Used this trimmer for one season and it quit on me at the start of the second. The price tag caught my eye but now I wish I would have shelled out for a better brand. I've tried cleaning the carb and about everything else I can think of. It will cost more to get it professionally fixed than what it's worth. Beware of this item.
