Received FAST!! Our Poulan multi-tool allows for easy interchange of edger, trimmer, hedger and cultivator; we love this machine! Edger does the job and is easy enough for my boys 13 and 16 to use. Would highly recomment this product.
I've only used it a couple times, but the edger attachment meets my expectations. While it is not near as effective as a walk behind edger, if you have a small yard it is a cost efficient way to get the job done. The edger attachement has a much longer range of depth adjustment than previous models i've owned.
This edger easily attaches to my Poulan head unit and works fine. It would be nice if the height was slightly more adjustable. I am a tall person so the angle at which I hold the edger is higher forcing the blade further into the ground than I would prefer. If the ground is wet, the wheel cakes with mud easily if you are digging into the ground too much but that's to be expected.
This edger works great! I had an old 2-cycle edger that just didn't have enough oomph and was always choking down-hard to get the oil mix just right. Then I got a three-wheel push model (was older and was used). It worked ok, but would not start after the fourth time I used it. This Poulan Pro Edgerwas sold out at my local Wal Mart. I had to get it on line. It was very reasonable even with the shipping charge. This little thing is so easy to use. All you have to do is hold it up and it pulls itself along. Does a Great job! It was my Last choice because I thought holding it up would be a chore-- but it turns out to be much easier than fighting with either of the two push-along-on-the-ground edgers I had before. The Poulan Pro attachment connects and disconnects easily, and the motor always starts right up.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with this product. It takes a good weed eater and turns it into a good edger. I have had it for over two years and just bought a new blade for it. The only negative review can be completely ignored. The gentleman stated that the blade "must be fused on somehow". His problem, I'm sure, is that he was attempting to turn the nut the wrong way. Because the blade spins clockwise they must have the threads go in the counter clockwise direction to tighten it to keep the nut from backing itself off over time. So "even using a friends air compressor and wrench" just tightened it even further and made it impossible to remove. Good luck next time buddy.
The PRO-LINK attachment works as advertised. Very easy to switch between the weed trimmer and the edger. No more going through spools of line getting ugly results trimming back the edge of the driveway or sidewalk. I have the 33cc Poulan which has plenty of power to cut through the dirt and produces a clean finish. A much cheaper and more convienent option than buying yet another tool to edge the driveway. Storage of the attachment is far easier and virtually maintenance free
I bought the base unit somewhere else and bought the attachments from Walmart. I'm very pleased with the exchangeability of the parts and how well they work. My big bulky edger is retired.
I would suggest that you install a large neon sign next to the blade nut that says "Lefty Loosey, Righty tighty". Even though it is in the manual that the nut turns "clockwise" to loosen, I don't think that I would have noticed without first having read these reviews.
This edger attachment does a great job, and saves the necessity of buying a separate tool. It attaches easily to the trimmer head, and is easy to use. Our teenage son, who does the yard work, loves it. Less expensive, takes up less room in the garage.
Hated, hated this attachment. The angle that i had to hold trimer was very uncomfortable. My trimer handle was like 2 feet off of the ground. Any higher that I would lift the handle up, the Edger would dig in too deep and stall. After 15 minutes i was done with this piece of junk. I returned it. rubber splash sheild had like a bite out of it also. I didn't even get any edging done so must of been a manufacturing flaw. Do not buy this!
