My daughter has been obsessed with puppies for about 3 years now (she's almost 7 years old). For her birthday, we wanted to do something unique, and her idea was to adopt puppies. Since real ones would have most definitely not gone over well with the other parents, I went online and searched for my childhood toy- pound puppies. I was shocked at how rare they are, and how few places sell them. Walmart ended up having them at the best price and the best selection. They are a bit shorter than the original ones, but still come in cute packaging w/ adoption paperwork& a collar. I wish Walmart also sold the carrier, the small newborns and a few accessories for them, but the manufacturer may not even make them anymore. Overall, the puppies were a huge success... Thanks to some YouTube sound clips of dog pounds & each girl ending up getting the type of dog she wanted. For $10, they are a very good deal and for anyone whose child loves dogs, but can't get a real one... A Pound puppies party is highly recommended! PS- I also got the Pound Puppies DVD (Operation Adoption) for the girls to watch with their new pups before bed. Well worth the $5 extra dollars. :)
I got this as a birthday gift for my 7 year old nephew. Not quite the same as the pound puppies i had growing up but he was ecstatic anyway. He immediately named the dog Daisy and made sure she stayed close by him, if not in his lap.
