0714991222227. Pre-Owned: Good condition. CD. Party people, listen up: the dance music album you've waited for your whole lives is here. You're going to be tempted to dismiss this as kitsch, but resist the temptation: Dolly Parton is as capable as anyone else of turning out perfectly fine versions of "Walking on Sunshine," "Peace Train," and "Two Doors Down," and if she can sing them, then why on earth shouldn't Junior Vasquez and Mark Kamins remix them? Now admittedly, pairing Dolly up with Ladysmith Black Mambazo on "Peace Train" really is kind of kitschy, but you know, it really doesn't sound awful. What is too bad is that this "album" only consists of three songs, each in three to four mixes. But those mixes are all lots of fun: the Cyphonix Radio Mix of "Two Doors Down" takes Dolly off on a dubwise rollercoaster of beats and off-kilter sampling; the Holy Roller mix of "Peace Train" turns it into a sort of acid-gospel thing; Mark Kamins' Harder Mix of "Walking on Sunshine" is a minimalist dancefloor anthem.
