My husband and I absolutely love Weed Preventer, we have flower beds completely surrounding our home and Preen is the only product we use to keep control of weeds. Our beds are mulched but we Preen a few times a year and NEVER have to get on our hands and knees to weed! We recommend this product to everyone who loves gardening as much as we do! The most enjoyable part is sitting back and looking at the flower beds.
My husband Dan and I are Master Gardeners. We were having a garden tour on July 17th of this year. So this spring, after I weeded, I sprinkled Preen around. I did not have to do any weeding in the flower beds. It stopped all seeds from germinating. My husband just cut down all the flowers and I thought I would do some weeding-there were only a couple of them. I certainly will buy more Preen in the spring. I recommend this to everyone. Last year I used this product on a section of our lawn that had an annual weed popping up in it. It also got rid of that pest. We will be using it next spring in a Pocket Park that us Master Gardeners maintain. PS Moat of my pictures of too big to download.
Gardening has been my passion for the past 40+ years. As I grow older I can do longer weed my Garden because of arthritis and other ailments. Using Preen cuts down on my weeding by 90%. Two applications, one in April and the second in July seems to do the trick. Preen has enabled me to continue with my beloved gardening. I only wish that I used Preen in my younger years instead of all the bending and time spent on my knees.
I did extensive research on availability and product characteristics, easily applied the product, with success in applying the product with minimum waste dust while applying the product. and the uniform size/mass distribution of the product resulted in a satisfactory - uniform distribution on the product on my front landscape and the product is not noticeable on the ground. The Walmart product price resulted in a substantial cost reduction. I used a hand-held applicator on a windy day; I was pleasantly surprised by the very low amount of dust.
As I get older it's increasingly difficult to keep up with the vast swathes of flower beds I made when I was younger. I live in a neighborhood plagued by cottonwood trees that shed a veritable blizzard of seeds each spring. If I didn't use Preen, there would be millions of seedlings carpeting every available inch of garden soil--but preen keeps these and other weeds at bay, allowing me to save my energy for more pleasant gardening chores. Without it, I would never be able to keep up. Thank you, Preen!
This product works good not great. I put it on my garden after I weed and it does help for the next batch of weeds that are coming up next. Especially for carrots and beets
Weeds are bare minimum, even with constant sunshine here and watering. I have many flowering plants and now have minimal week pulling each week. Love it.
I never would have believed it! When we bought a house with "xeriscaping," we thought, great, minimal work required! Well that was so not the case, as the weeds literally took over the plantings. This year we applied Preen in early May and what a difference! There was about a 90% reduction in weeds... even our gardener (whom we hired primarily for weed control) couldn't believe it! He just, 3 months later (and I admit it would have been better to do it after about 10 weeks) put down the second application. Looking forward to a "weedless fall!"
Preen is a brand name and a registered trademark. I would never purchase an off-brand and expect it to work like Preen does. Frequent, very frequently, off brand products do not offer the same quality as brand name products. Therefore I do not buy them.
A lot of stuff missing or not brought up to the front of shelf
