This cage makes cleaning up a snap! I appreciate the built-in play area on top. I couldn't be happier with this purchase, and it is worth every penny spent. I can actually see how much my birds love their new, spacious home by their increased playfulness and increased interaction. We love to sit and watch them play, and I love that I spend less time cleaning!
Life is more pleasant for both Gerry and I since he has a larger condo with playground to enjoy. Also, much harder to play music on the bars and rip them out. He gets more toys and space to cruise around. The footprint is reasonable for my own small abode, it was not a fast assembly working solo, but not that difficult, either. One clip was bent and another missing, but it does not detract or effect the efficiency of the cage.
I chose this product with the hope it was sturdier than similarly priced cages...to help reduce the noise. It worked. The cage construction is very solid. We have a cockatiel...and there's almost no sound from him climbing around (no rattling.) The instructions were poor (the mfg should redo them.) The tiny pictures made it difficult to see small detail (such as which direction a panel should be facing). It didn't help that the parts list and the components I received were different. Also the instructions do not list which screws to use at various times during construction, so you have to excersize judgement. (The mfg calls everything a stainless steel screw.) There was no instructions on how to attach the outside seed guard...but it was somewhat self explanatory. My package was missing one of the inserts needed to attach the wheels. Fortunately I decided (out of necessity due to missing pcs) not to use the wheels. Lastly, I ordered black, but I'd swear what I received is pewter. It looks nice either way, and I don't plan on returning it. (I can't, I've got the bird now.) Despite the above short comings I am very satisfied with this product. It works great and looks nice (once assembled.)
I was in need of a new cage. Bird store cages very expensive. Took my chances without seeing this in person and couldn't be happier. Extremely easy to assemble and looks great. I purchased the silver, which is really a very light gray. Beautiful color! Safety lock on door. Tray on bottom is far from the actual bottom, which is great because my bird can't reach the dirty bottom. Every other day-change bottom to clean. Very easy to slide out and back in. Overall, great cage, great price. Very pleased. So is my bird.
The color is beautiful and the size is great for small parrots or smaller birds. The cage did come with a small part bend but it was the shipping process that handle it wrong but it was easy to fix back and I like that it came with a small paint (the paint is hard to come off do). It's easy to assemble. And easy to clean. Great investment.
A few small scratches, but it also came with paint. Love it!!
I was looking at getting a sun conure, this would be a pretty decent sized cage for this bird. However I decided to get an eclectus instead and needed a bigger cage. This cage came with extra nuts and screws, which is nice. However it was missing a peg for one of the rolling wheels to go into. I contacted the company to send me a new one per their slip, however two weeks went by and I never received the replacement.
I added another perch and a few toys and he loves it! I love the seed guard that helps reduce the amount of mess that gets on the floor. The large access door with safety bolt and little doors for the food and water dishes are a real plus. The wheels are nice for moving him to other rooms in the house. It is built strong and I think it will last for years. Although there was a little rust in a few external places that must have been exposed to moisture. I wouldn't put two birds in it but it is nice for one. The measurements of 18 x 18 are the outside measurements. The inside is a little smaller. Both the upper play area and the cage have nice deep slide out drawers making them easy to clean..so far. He hasn't been out yet to play on top but I'm sure he will enjoy it.
I got this cage for my sun conure and she loves it. I only had two problems with it: one was that the directions were extremely vague (it didn't depict when to use the different screws or how the play top went on) and two was that the mess shield was very hard to put together. As a matter of fact, I still don't have all of the screws in because of the angle of it. Despite these two things, this cage is wonderful. It is super easy to clean. It allows you to take the bottom grate out for easy cleaning and the tray for the bottom of the cage and the play top slide out. The front door has a safety feature for extra-intelligent birds who could open it on their own. And the bowls slip into rings that are attached to doors that open for super easy changing/cleaning. AND my favorite, it comes with a small bottle of paint in case some of it chips off!
The cage itself is beautiful, easy to put together, decent shipping time, etc etc...BUT... it arrived with several dents... all of which I overlooked because they were THAT bad, except for one that was really noticeable and pretty large. I called Prevue Pets two times, left them a detailed message, and emailed two times before I was finally given a response almost a week later... I described in detail the part that was dented and I wanted replaced and a few days later they sent me the WRONG part. I emailed the customer service lady yet again and explained that I still needed the RIGHT part and this time I sent her a picture of the dented piece and she sent me a sarcastic and down right rude email back about how the piece I described had nothing to do with that piece. Firstly, I work retail, I am the customer in this situation who received a damaged cage, how about you just do your job, be polite, and make me a happy customer who will continue to buy from you?? Anyway, almost a month after I first purchased the cage, I FINALLY have a dentless (noticeably) cage. So in conclusion this IS a beautiful cage, but it is up to you if you want to take a gamble with purchasing it online.
