Instructions could have been better but very pleased with the cage. Sturdy attractive and I am sure it will give us service for years.
It came really fast. Put together with ease. Re: seed guard. Bird doesn't make any mess without it. With it one tends to bump into it, with resulting bruises.
I believe these are the best cages on the market. I have purchased two of the same ones years ago. They are still in use. I added one more bird in my home. The gages all match. Something like this is part of your decor but needs to be functional as well.
Very happy with this product. It's the right size for our severe macaw. Well made. Hayneedle has not disappointed us yet.
This cage is like other Prevue cages I have purchased. Sturdy, easy to assemble.
Fast shipping and arrived in perfect condition. The only downfall is the instructions were pretty much useless. I dont even think they were for this cage.
I ordered five cages. The cages are good, for the price, and roomy for Amazons, Greys, and similar-sized birds (36x24x36, plus play stand). Front door latches are pretty escape-proof. No way to lock food cup doors - existing latches will not prevent escapes. One of my Amazons immediately upended her water bowl, twice. No way to latch them down. The cages were not packed sufficiently, or were rough-handled badly. All had numerous small-medium paint scrapes. Each cage included small vial of touchup paint, so Prevue knows this is a problem. One tray has a bump out on the front, but I put it on the bottom so it is not very noticeable. One tray is actually bent and dented on the front, must be replaced. Four pieces of the seed catcher were damaged (bend and de-painted on the ends) and must be replaced. Prevue promises to send me replacement parts at no charge. They need to improve packing-shipping, IMHO. Cages themselves are OK, but lack bells and whistles other brands may have. But for the price . . . . and I had to get five, so price was attractive.
Size was what we were looking for; however.....instructions were minimal and had to guess in putting it together. Had to pull out multiple tools to straighten out metal parts to get holes to line up and side doors to open. The solid tray on top has puncture dents down the side. Lots of money for poor quality!
The cage looks great and sturdy and is a great size. However, I am returning mine because one of the most important parts was broken off. I had the cage half assembled and was so excited to have....when I saw the broken welded slot broken. Not useable with this break. If it were not a vital part of the cage construction I might have kept the cage. So disappointed! Now I am debating buying the same cage in hope that it won't have broken parts.
If I could give this item 0 stars I would have. The specs on the cage looked perfect, so I went ahead and ordered it. It arrived a couple of weeks later (shipped to Hawaii). I opened the boxes and laid out the panels in preparation for assembly, several panels had paint chipped off and rust beginning, but they provided touch up paint and paint brush so I decided I could deal with that. Then I attempted to assemble the cage according to the instructions. The instructions are very crude but I was able to figure out which way the panels were supposed to go together after test fitting them a few times. But when I actually tried putting them together and installing the bolts according to the instructions, I discovered 4 of the panels were missing the 8 bolt holes to install the bolts to hold the cage together. The panels that could be bolted together were so wobbly that there would have been no way to complete the cage even if the additional needed bolt holes were present. I attempted calling their Customer Support number during their normal business hours and only got an answering machine. 24 hours later no one had still returned my call. I am returning this item to the local Walmart store as it is completely non-functional.
