I love these salt/pepper grinders and have been buying them for years now. They do, occasionally, go out quickly, but that is not the norm. I use one for salt and one for pepper. This grinder is awesome-have had mine for several years-wouldn't trade for anything-I think the best feature is that you can use one handed which is especially helpful with corn on the cob. The light is also helpful in a dim setting.
Perfect with a push button, variable grind and a light to see how much you are using.
Wasn't sure about making this purchase after reading some of the reviews, but I'm glad I took a chance and ordered anyway. This pepper mill is very simple to use. The instructions are very straight forward. There are two features I especially like. One is the numbered (1-4) grinding gauge, the other is the see through bottom. Just a simple turn grinds from fine to coarse. And having the option to see the amount of remaining peppercorns is quite helpful. With my old mill I didn't know what I had left until it stopped grinding. The lighted bottom is also a very useful. I am very pleased with my purchase.

Works as advertised. The only reason I rated this Good is the first time I purchased it the motor did not work. Returned it and bought another and it functions perfectly. Hopefully I received the only bad one in the batch.
lite inoperable but grinds OK not worth my time to return it
The black plastic holding the grinding mechanism in the bottom is not strong enough to handle the torque without cracking - that is why if you look other place people complain about the grind being way too coarse. Unfortunately, the company cheaped out on one part that ruins a pretty nice mill. And you can not get the part out of warranty - although I am not sure there is much point since it would just break again any way. I hate adding to landfill but I don't want huge chunks of pepper...
