Great treadmill for the price

This is a very well built treadmill very sturdy when walking and or running, it's also surprisingly quiet. Set up only took 45 minutes and that's taking breaks to help kids with things. Overall a good machine. We are getting the warranty with as we'll just in case as with anything you have to protect your investment.

Everything I hoped for

I have been a treadmill user for 2/3rds of my life and for all of that 2/3rds, had to make due with a hand me down. It was time for me to find a "new" treadmill so I started my research about a year ago. I hesitated having to spend a lot of money and was more than okay to find another used treadmill in great condition. If it wasn't for my husband, I would have settled on a used one but he insisted on me purchasing a brand new one. Anyway, I ordered this one, we picked it up at our local Walmart store. Don't get me wrong, it was a commitment putting it together. It took about 2 hours. All I can say is it is everything I hoped for in a brand new treadmill without having to spend thousands of dollars... yyiipppeeeeee!

Durable, Best Bang for the Buck

Researched several treadmills in the $350 - $600 range and most will tell you that a price point at this level is 'entry level' or a waste of money. I've had this for 2 months purchased at Sam's Club and overall pleased with the construction, durability, features and what I paid for it. Sure you can get some end of year clearance treadmills now for $100 off retail probably in the $275 - $350 range, etc. Referring to Gold's Gym 480 at Walmart, but you do get what you pay for, as is with anything. Some of the better features this has going for it is the ability to plug in Ipod or Iphone and have easy access to song library or Pandora. Deck folds up for easy moving and storage, although once it's in place I don't anticipate ever using this feature much. Has a fairly wide belt and long walking path so there are no issues with worrying about losing balance, etc. Durable handles on side and across the front gives you flexibility to hold on during more vigorous workouts. Used the IFit card for the first time the other day and, although not a big fan of Jilian Michaels, it takes the guesswork out of the workout. In other words, if you follow along, it actually adjusts the incline and speed as you go throughout the workout. She gives you helpful tips on diet, stretching, etc. that also helps make the workout more enjoyable. The only comment or complaint on this would be the audio comes in at different volume levels when she talks and gives you her 'tips' sometimes getting drowned out by the sound of the incline on the treadmill...like it was recorded in different times and then put on the SD card (which is included) at different volume levels. Other than that little nuance, I have been completely pleased with this treadmill for the $499 price at Sam's Club. I tried comparing this to other treadmills on the market or find a comparable unit for the same price and this must be an 'exclusive' Sam's Club offer as I did not have any luck. There are certainly other ProForm treadmills out there - a few less expensive and many way more expensive...If you just want to do a 30minute workout every day or so, I'm not sure what other features you would be wanting. This gives you the flexibility to just press GO and walk at the set speed you choose, Use the IFit workout that is provided, and there are several 'Quick' settings that you can select - for example, if I wanted to burn 200 calories, I can select a 200 Calorie Button and there is a workout specific to do just that... Again, probably way more features than I would ever use, but it's nice to have a lower-end treadmill with this much flexibility. You can save $100 or so going with the Gold's Gym 410 or 480 sold at Walmart...but I think this offers more usability features such as the ability to plug in your IPod and the IFit functionality. Both probably can be argued are 'gimmick' features. Comes in 1 large box and takes about an hour to put together with most all of the 'mechanical parts' already pre-assembled. Strictly assembling the legs, cross bar and attaching the electronic console is the extent of assembly.

So far so good

I've had this for about a week and so far it's been really good! I needed a not too expensive treadmill that supported extra weight so I decided on this one. It took about 3 hours for my husband to put together. We are missing the audio jack for the speaker system tho. I attempted to call the company but I was on hold forever and gave up. I'll try another day when I have time. The treadmill itself runs good and smooth. Not too loud. Doesn't start or stop jerky like some others. I also like the 18" tread belt for ease of walking.

Lots of good help at my local Wal-Mart when picking up the unit. Unit came undamaged and assembly was as expected...a bit over 2 hours. After one week all is working well and as expected. Sound quality is much better than expected on a unit in this price range.

Great Buy

Bought this & put it together myself, which took me about 4 hrs. If you don't want to do it yourself there is an insert with information so you can call to have it done for you. It was tedious & I went fairly slow, should go faster with help. It's a great intro home treadmill. I've used it several times & am very happy with it, not too loud & easy to use. Haven't tried the iFit yet, but I love the iPod feature & that it folds up. Overall an excellent value, very pleased!

Be sure to pick up a surge supressor

Overall good product and fairly easy to assemble. Was slightly disappointed to find out that it requires a single outlet surge suppressor UL 1449. Without it we could not operate th treadmill as it would not even turn on. Once we got that however all was in working order and everyone here enjoys it.

Newer and Lighter, but Not Better than the Old

Reviewed in the USA on 2012-02-22T16:00:00

I purchased this machine on 12/23/11 as a replacement for the ProForm model I had for over 7 years. It was time for a new belt, so I thought I'd upgrade to a newer model and donate the older, heavier one to charity - bad idea. The newer, lighter model (which took me 4 hours to assemble) worked great the first two weeks, but then the belt started shifting to the far right or far left. I centered the belt and exercised for 45 minutes, then I powered the unit down. The next day upon powering it up, the belt immediately shifted again to the far left or right. I returned it to the store for another unit. This time it only took me 2 hours to assemble, so I was feeling pretty good about things. As soon as I plugged in the new unit, the belt shifted from the center to the far left and I couldn't get it to center again after following the troubleshooting procedures. Sam's refunded the purchase, but I couldn't convince them to reimburse me for the 6 hours of labor and my time for returning both units - but I asked! I decided to go with an elliptical instead and my knees and joints appreciate the transition.
