The whole buying process for our treadmill was great starting from our very personable salesman Clint to the delivery ahead of schedule. Assembly was easy, and now we are using it daily. It is a great machine and does everything we need it to do! My wife does ~6 miles a day on it and is now addicted in a good way!
Coming from a Nordic Track wooden flexdeck that I loved I never thought I would find another treadmill that could take the abuse I give it and not kill my knees. This Proform Pro 5000 works really well. Sturdy enough for the long fast run and the deck does absorb some of the downforce. The only complaint, and it really isn't, is that this machine weighs an awful lot. When we moved this was the last thing to make it into our new house. Heavy and does not come apart easy to get through doorways. I think the addition of a wiring connector in the legs to disconnect the power supply from the treadmill would really aid in the ability to move this.
I have been using the Proform 5000 for about three months now and am very satisfied with the product. Its smooth and quiet and fits my needs. The only improvement I can see is to locate a higher positioned fan so it hits your face. Other than that I can find no faults. The assembly was relatively easy and well guided. I took care of it myself but there are a few steps that are not recommended to use a single person. The display console is very intuitive and easy to navigate.
This product needs better instructions on how to connect with the internet. Called if it and waited 40 minutes to talk with somebody. Told me I had to register with ifit to make it work. Does not. Tells me there are updates but will not download. Do you need a tablet to make it work? Why doesn't it say so if you do. Ordered it day before cyber Monday for Christmas gift. When trucker called, said it would be delivered dec. 27. Am 73 years old and hold on to bar while walking, 5'11" tall, have to hunch over to do this causing back discomfort. Also, when I hold on to the bar, my shoes hit the plastic piece over the belt quite often. Could possibly us pins in uprights to make them adjustable for height of user.
Great device. Incline and decline are nice. Good shock absorbing. Ifit Google map running makes it fun. Three complaints: 1 There is no option to add a cool down to workouts, it just stops at end of a course. 2 The fan installed looks cheesy and makes loud plastic rattle. 3 The shuts off at end of a course and has to be turned back pin.
First off, it took two months to get my treadmill. I immediately had problems with iFit and have called 5 times and was on hold at least an hour each time before either giving up or talking to an agent. The last time I got an agent on the line they would not walk me thru the instructions that they immediately and told me if I had problems to respond to the email and they would get back to me in a day or two. Thanks for waisting hours of my life! Of course I had problems! The treadmill is fine but having spent the extra money on one that has a screen to do workout programs with a company that has terrible customer support was a waste. All of the workouts I have tried have been either way too easy or way too hard. I don't consider running at an incline of 15% to be an intermediate workout. The treadmill is constantly going up and down in elevation, at times changing before it reaches the last setting. I would like better descriptions of the workout and more advance warning of what the next speed and incline will be. Unfortunately manual workout seems the way to go.
To use treadmill, you have to go through the software each time. Software is not simple and quick to use. It causes extra non value time spent before workout. If software could be improved to make startup quick and have workouts stored when internet isn't available, then this could be rated 5 stars.
Overrated treadmill. It had an Android software that seems to never update or function like its 2018. Touchscreen might as well be 5 years outdated. Doesn't respond where you touch half the time. The apps never keep you signed in and also kicks you out randomly during your run. Or it will either never let you sign in because it keeps kicking you out. Speakers have stopped playing for me mid run as well. Mid run as in 15 minutes into the run. When I first used the fan it made a weird noise as if it was a clicking sound. After further investigating I noticed wires hanging that was catching the fan blade. This was noticed the second day of use but was a quick fix. Only cool thing about the treadmill is you can set up your iPad and watch stuff. But be sure it's charged because the treadmill won't charge it for you when you plug it in.
I love the way its running but unfortunately there where problems with the motor after 4 months and it broke down. We reached out for service but the companie did not respond to our emails. After 8 weeks and 15 emails we decided to order a new board online and put it in ourselves as we did not get any response from the company. Would never buy it again!!
I returned the treadmill because no workouts were available unless you had an internet connection which I didn't where I had the machine. Additionally, to get these workouts you had to subscribe to iFit. So the claim of 38 on-board workouts was false.
