Large, heavy and sturdy eliptical. Easy to put togetherâtook under 30 min with two people. Love that it folds up if you need to. The plug is in the front of of the machine and not the rear. Great investment and very happy with my purchase.
I have owned this machine for almost a year now. I didn't want to post a review until I could give it a real workout. I am very happy to say that this machine is exactly what you are looking for in a home elliptical. When I bought this machine I could barely walk up a flight of stairs and now I can run up them. The pre programed workouts are fantastic. I am still using it today and I am sure I'll still be using it for many months to come. So glad I bought this machine.
I have had this elliptical now for a little over 2 weeks and love it. I have read other reviews about this product on other sites claiming there was a horrible noise or banging sound, but mine does not make a sound. I feel that for the price this is an exceptional buy.
Very easy to assemble with two people. Smooth action and quiet. The wheels make it easy to maneuver for storage. Assemble in the room where you plan to use it or you may have trouble getting it through a regular door without removing the wheel assembly or door because of length of wheel bar. The only complaint I have is with regard to the delivery. It was sent via 18 wheeler which could not enter my subdivision so I had to meet the truck and have it loaded into my truck. Recommend that delivery method is worked out in advance to ensure right size delivery vehicle for your area.
This is a professional machine and performs like the machines I've used in many gyms. I have wanted my own for years, but was scared to purchase one in the event it didn't live up to my expectations. The ProForm Smart Strider Elliptical is AWESOME! I am 5' 4" tall. The stride length is long enough and the workouts are great. It is also very quiet. Not like the loud gym machines at all! I live in an upstairs apartment unit and my downstairs neighbor doesn't hear anything. I watch my TV while I work out and I don't even have to turn it up loud. I found the other reviews and comments helpful. Specifically about delivery. The company that delivered was great. When I was contacted to arrange a delivery date & time I made sure to tell them I lived in an apartment complex and that a big rig truck wouldn't be able to get into the complex. They arranged to have a smaller box truck deliver instead. Delivery couldn't have been more smooth for such a large and heavy delivery. You need two people to get this thing in your place and set up, but the set up is easy. It's just obviously very heavy, so have someone there to help you!
When you see these units at the gym they don't look as big as when you have to fit one inside your house. This came delivered on a pallet and I figured while the box would fit in through the front door I'd rather just have it left in the garage where I would assemble it before taking it inside. This turned out to be a bad idea. It only took 15-20 minutes to assemble the unit, following the directions on the box, turning it over, leaving the unit upside down made that process easier. However, the back and front stabilizers were too wide to fit inside the door so the entire unit had to be turned sideways to get inside. This probably would have been easier with two guys carrying it but doing this on my own was harder than it would have been just moving the box inside in the first place. Moving it downstairs a flight of stairs also was harder than it would have been moving just the box. Once in place, folded up, and connected to power, the unit worked flawlessly. I had to level it with the included leveling feet on the rear stabilizer bar. I put in about 5-6 hours on the unit over the weekend. The only negative about the unit, and this was a known issue I had expected, is that the stride is only 18". I'm 5'10" and thought 18" would be enough but I probably should have gone with a 20" unit. This will take some getting used to, not a problem with the unit, just something to consider if you're taller. It's very quiet and stable. I don't use the electronics for anything but to track time spent on it. There's a place for a tablet or phone, even has built-in speakers but with a TV in front of it I haven't had to use that, seems safe though. The cup-holder is a nice convenience. Oh, I do have to mention the shipping... The box looked pretty badly beat up, like it had been tossed around carelessly, which surprised me as it's 190lbs. It seems the only parts that were exposed and badly scratched were two temporary bars in place where the real stabilizer bars are mounted. Other than that, a half dozen large tears/holes luckily did no damage inside.
Very good exercise machine. It's about the same quality as the equipment at the gym. It is Very strong and sturdy. It has a nice speaker to listen music when you're working out.
This was just what I was looking for in an exercise machine. It helps relieve my arthritis pain in my back and makes me feel so much better. It is very quiet and easy to use. My husband put it together in 2 hours--came mostly assembled. And the price was right to what we could afford--well worth the money. It has many workout features where you can adjust the tension. The screen displays time you are on the machine, calories burned etc. Love it! I highly recommend it.
I purchased this unit for myself. I absolutely love it it's quiet it does everything it's supposed to do it's programmable. Love this machine, I put it up in the corner of my living room so I can watch the lifetime movies while I exercise! LOL
Pros: Extremely easy to assemble; instructions say two people needed, however I assembled by myself and took about 30 minutes. The machine is quiet and works well so far. Cons: Stability could be better. I must report on my horrible experience with the delivery of my equipment. I purchased my elliptical on 11/8/15, I finally received it on 12/7/15. Wal-Mart contracted with Seko Worldwide who sub-contracted with Cross Country Couriers. My shipment was coming from Denver which was hit with a 10-15 in. snowfall when it was supposed to be shipped the first time - I understand weather is unpredictable. I was told I would be contacted in a week to set up a delivery. Week went by and I never received a call to schedule. I called Seko and they told me they had not received my elliptical and when they did, I would be able to set up a delivery. Another week went by and I didn't receive a call; called Seko back and they said they received it and "an agent" would be contacting me to schedule a delivery. Another week went by - now week of Thanksgiving - I called Seko again - where is my shipment and why haven't I been contacted to schedule a delivery? Told yet again I would be contacted by an agent; another week went by and still no call. Called back again on 12/1/15 and was told my delivery appt. was cancelled due to bad weather in Sioux Falls - only problem is I never received a call to schedule a delivery and I was out of town on the day they were going to deliver. When I asked trucking company who did they call and speak to that set up delivery the dispatcher asked "What is your number again?" I live alone and only have a cell so they definitely did not call me. I was told I would receive a call to reschedule the next day - yep no call ever came in. I called back after COB and asked to schedule a delivery and if it would be possible to have my elliptical delivered to my apartment since I live alone and don't have the equipment to transport it - dispatcher told me she would look into this and have two guys instead of one deliver my shipment. Called back the next day to schedule delivery yet again and was informed there was no record that they were going to have my equipment delivered to my door or that they would have two guys deliver. Finally was able to schedule my delivery and have it delivered to my apartment door. I called Wal-Mart.com about this terrible experience and all I wanted was for Wal-Mart to get on trucking company's case on getting my purchase to me; I was informed they couldn't do anything about the trucking company, but they did offer me a 10% discount for the delay - I wasn't even looking for a discount - VERY IMPRESSED with Wal-Mart.com's customer service. My advice to Wal-Mart.com is to switch the carriers they contract with to transport shipments. I am not sure how separate Wal-Mart stores and Wal-Mart.com are, but Wal-Mart should just stick to their trucks - never had these issues when I order items for pick-up at Wal-Mart store. Only reason why I didn't do it this time is because I lack the means to transport the size and weight of the elliptical from the store to my apartment. In the future I will likely not have my products shipped directly to my apartment from Wal-Mart.com (even though shipping was free).
