My 14-year grandson put this together for me. I am disabled with multiple sclerosis and bad balance so I don't walk. This bicycle works good for me in that I can actually peddle forwards, unlike the Marcy recumbent bike which I could only peddle backwards which caused my clonus to act up. I haven't tried it in the upright position, maybe when my legs get stronger. It takes 4 D batteries which I didn't get yet for the digital panel, but not necessary for me until I want to up the resistance! Overall a great product.
I love this bike. It is made well and doesn't take up much space. I really wanted a recumbent bikeand this bike converts into one. I keep it in my bedroom and exercise while watching TV. I am very satisfied with Proform exercise equipment. I even have a Proform treadmill. You won't be disappointed with this bike.
I'm a 69 years young grandmother. Two years ago I underwent double knee replacement and recently I suffered contracture of the right knee caused by scar tissue. My physical therapist told me "the bike is your friend" and so my research led me to the Duo. I needed a bike that was easy to use, compact and had a back rest and the Duo fits the bill. My neighbor and her daughter assembled it for me and I've been on it everyday since. Riding the bike has improved my mobility. I can now navigate the stairs better, I don't get stiffness after prolonged sitting, and I rarely need pain meds. I can't afford a gym membership and with cold weather coming it's unlikely that I'd go anyway. Now I can exercise at home and maintain mobility for as long as possible.
The bike was not too difficult to put together. I am a senior single female and managed to do it alone. For a person who uses reading glasses to read, the console prop is too far away for me to put a book on it to read while I am riding. I did have a problem at first with the left pedal falling off during riding, but discovered you really need to get serious about using the adjustable wrench to turn those nuts. I keep the tools handy and periodically tighten everything and that seems to be working well and have had no further pedal problems. It is the first exercise bike I have owned so I have nothing to compare it to other than those at the gym, but overall, I am pleased with the product. I feel exercised after riding and have worked up a sweat. It is quiet. It is a bit awkward and heavy for me to move around by myself even when folded up, but I appreciate having that feature.
I love the bike but gave 4 stars because it took me several hrs to put together by myself. At 71 yrs old I found it hard for me to assemble but managed it in 8 hrs I was just not strong enough to screw it together without difficulty but did it after several attempts. Can't adjust it to upright bike so just use as recumbent bike. I am up to 15 min at one sitting. At first could only go for 5 minutes. I ride it every day and can see some improvement in my muscles. I have had 2 screws fall out and will try to get my granddaughter to come and help me find out where they belong. It is a good bike but needs 2 people to put together. Hoping this gets me in better shape. Overall I love it! Also the monitor works great!
My husband and I are both in our 70's and bought this bike for knee friendly exercising vs other exercise equipment. We found it easy to assemble and our only complaint is the seat is not the most comfortable. We would prefer another type or one a little larger.
I enjoy using my Proform X Duo bike at various time of day and evening. I was tired of trying to go to the gym. It is nice and relaxing to watch a program or read a book and still exercise at the same time. I like the option of riding 2 different positions and to fold it up for storage. It took me 2 hours to put together by myself. I am glad I invested in my health. I wish the instructions stated you will need additional special wrenches to install the pedals, the front and back screws to the stabilzers. I always wished the console was brighter and it included an adapter instead of me having to purchase 4D batteries for the price of the bike.
Bike came with broken piece not very stable for my husband who weight 220.00 pounds It took a while to assembled and at the end two pieces had no picture or part to addled I bought it for medical reasons hope can help!
I love the bike, I use it every day, the screen could be a bit bigger, or lit up, and the tension control could go further I find I'm at its highest level and it is to easy
Works great for us beginners. But def looks and feels like there is an upgrade in the near future. Its a good bike to get your heart rate pumping. My only issue is i have long legs and my knees hit the display when riding. Moving the seat further back doesnt help cause then it becomes too far to reach peddles. Can adjust veey easliy and move to another location very easliy.
