This USB port will be a necessity for any global traveler as all countries have different power outlets. This port has slides on each side to disperse the proper outlet depending on where you are. Just slide down and out comes the outlet. You can charge up to 3 items at a time.
The addition of USB ports (3 USB-A and 1 USB-C) on this travel adapter is a nice upgrade from my old one, because really, its our technology that we want charged the most when traveling. The slide buttons work smoothly, making it easy to change from one outlet type to another. It also isn't as bulky as my old one, and stays put in the outlet better. As it states on the package, this is not a voltage converter, so it only works with dual voltage devices, like newer smart phones, tablets, laptops, etc. Something like a hair dryer or curling iron will probably still need a converter along with an adapter.
This plug is amazing. If you are like me you have been traveling internationally with a little bag of multiple plugs and you hope you have the one you need when you get to wherever you are going. This plug eliminates all of that. One plug will take you anywhere you want to go, anywhere. On the sides of the plug, there are little slides and when you slide one, the correct plug is made available for that region. The slides are clearly labeled for where they work. Here is what I think is amazing, this plug is literally universal like stated. If you lived abroad, you could use this plug wherever you went. If you live in the US, you can use this plug wherever you want. I have already ordered two more because I have one child who travels internationally for work, and one who is studying abroad and she travels on the weekends to a variety of places. I love that we no longer have to keep track of multiple plugs in a little pouch. This plug is brilliant in my opinion and I can hardly wait to use it in a few months. The other bonus is that it has USB and USB-C. For my electronic habits, I am completely covered with this plug.
My trip to Europe was canceled due to Covid, but hopefully I will get to use this adapter soon. I have never been before, but this item was recommended by a friend and I knew I would need it for using my hair dryer and plugging in other items. I can't wait to actually need to use it!!
This adapter is very handy. It has plugs for AUS/US, EU and UK/HK. There are little sliders on three of the sides that you can see 1 of in my pictures. You just choose the one you need and slide it out when you need it. They all retract so it is very compact when not in use. There are 3 USB A ports and 1 USB C port for charging your devices. There is also one standard outlet if you have something that needs that as well. Overall being able to pack this instead of multiple adapters if a good way to save space.
We haven't had an opportunity to use this yet as we won't be traveling for another couple of months. However, with a granddaughter in grad school many thousands of miles away, we certainly will get that opportunity often. Looks very nice and helpful!!
I was going on a trip and I needed to get an adapter to charge the equipment that I had. My phone , laptop and I used the USB ports. It was easy to use all can be plugged in with the same adapter. The travel adapter is not large and bulky. Seems to be a good size to keep up with while traveling. I see that people that go to other countries- this would be a good adapter because it can handle different hook ups. On the unit itself there is an extra fuse just in case it's needed. So far I haven't had to use it. But good to know it's there just in case I need it. When using with cords they slid it without any issues. The adapter in colors so you can choose what you like. It's compact so you can put in your pocket without a problem. If you are a traveler this is a good product to have for your equipment. I give this product a 4 stars out of 5 stars
Has power outlet, USB A, and USB C inputs. One interface for power outlet, no plug+play pieces so no pieces to be lost. Has slides on each side to push out the power adapter you need. The US/AUS is one slide, and you can tell that there is space to be able to "twist" the prongs a bit to fit AUS. This was quite difficult when I tried (may get easier with time), but honestly wouldn't suggest it if AUS is the main one you are needing. Does have a changeable fuse, with a spot for the spare fuse on the front. USB Output: 5V 3.4A (Total) 5V 2.4A (Each USB A) 5V 3A (USB C) (No fast charging) AC Adapter power rating: 100-250V 6.3A Can only handle dual voltage devices, not single, so if you are wanting to use it with a hair dryer or straightener you will need a converter as well. Overall is a great product that is compact, all in one piece, and can handle quite a bit of different types of chargers. Especially like that it has a changeable fuse just in case. Only con really is the US/AUS being the same piece since it is a bit difficult to twist it to change between the two.
This international travel adapter has the plug-ins built in to the box so you can easily extend the correct prongs depending on the outlet you come across while traveling. It should be noted that this does NOT convert voltage so pay attention to the voltage that your devices take, because this item can't reduce it if the power source is too high.
I needed an additional adapter to go on a trip to Germany to visit family. We also wanted to have USB ports on it in order to charge our phones. We tested the Protégé International Adapter here in US and it worked well charging our phones as it has three USB (A) Ports and one USB (C) port. (See photo) It has adapter plugs for Continental Europe, the United Kingdom and Hong Kong, as well as an adapter for the United States. This is an adapter, not a converter. Most laptops and phones today automatically adapt to what ever voltage is being used (120 in the US vs 240 in Europe), so a converter is not an issue for these items. But if you have a hair dryer or electric razor without a switch on it to change the voltage, that small appliance could get fried. To engage the different plugs, you simply push a button and slide a lever down to engage the type of plug you want to use. This is a lot better than bringing individual adapters when I travel. However there is a problem. While I am sure it is a fine adapter, it is not what the packaging and instructions say it is regarding New Zealand/Australia plugs. It says there is a "AUS/NZ" tab. Instead what you actually have on the product itself is a tab labeled "AUS/US" and when you slide it out, it is just a US plug. It is not the plug that is used in Australia or New Zealand. (See photo) So, if you are going to Australia or New Zealand I would not recommend this product. But, I am sure it will work well for us in Europe.
