I bought this swing set for my kids, 5 & 1 1/2. They love it. It took me and a friend 7hrs to put together in 103 degree weather, it wasnt hard just time consumeing. Overall I think the quality is great and it is very sturdy, I highly recommend this set. Deffinately best swing for the price, you wont find anything better...
We bought this for our 3yr old son, it took my husband 8hrs to put this together by himself. He was a little aggravated that the directions were not that good. He actually thought some of them may have been missing, but none the less, he finished the set and it is absolutely beautiful! My son loves it!!!
Overall a great product and good value for money.. My 4 year old son loves it. There was hareware missing so we had to improvise and then there was extra hardware that was not needed. It took 6 hours to assemble with mostly 1 person. However It would of took half the time if the pieces had been labeled as there was no way of knowing which part was what.
I purchased this swing set for my daughters 3rd birthday. I had it shipped to my home. it arrived in a timely manor and the delivery guy was kind enough to put it in the back yard for me. The box had some visible damage and there were minor dings and dents in some of the pieces. I knew ahead of time that the parts were not labeled, thanks to many helpful reviewers,I went through and identified each piece and labeled w/ a pencil. My husband put it together with minor complaints about some holes not being aligned properly and having to drill holes. No biggie. It is pretty sturdy and looks much nicer than the metal swing sets. When all was said and done, it was worth it! The smiles when my daughter first saw her new park!
I put this swing set together with only a small amount of help. It took a total of 14 hours. Lay out the wood and label it with chalk - it makes it so much faster and easier. Everything turned out great but I do wish the little table was larger. And I do recommend putting it an inch or two lower than the directions say. My 2 and 3 year olds are too short for it. The slide is a little difficult to assemble. They had a few in the store - shipping was going to be over $100. We opened the boxes and made sure nothing was broken and we were on our way.
This took my husband and I two full 6 hr. days to build. The directions are detailed, and in good order. Like others have said previously (LABEL ALL WOOOD before beginning)! We used a pencil and wrote the corresponding letters on the end of each board. This took a good hour, but I think it helped a lot! Be prepared to drill many holes. Some are pred-drilled for the hex-bolts, but all lag screws require YOU to drill. There are 40 lag screws all together. Also, I recommend pre-drilling for all deck screws too. This helped keep the wood from splitting. There are over 80 deck screws included in this project! We did not care for the pic-nic table design under the slide platform. I have a 4 and 5 year old. There would not have been much room for them under there. Instead we opted to use the wood from the pic-nic table to make a sandbox underneath. From Phase 11 in the instructions, we attached 4 wood beams "v" to each side of the platform on bottom to make thicker sides to hold more sand (see picture). I used the 2 "w" wood beams on the sides to use as seating (see picture). With the remaining 5 pieces of "s" wood beams I made a top to the sandbox to keep my two dogs out when not in use (see picture). The kids get a ton of use from the sandbox!! Much more I think than they would have from a pic-nic table that was too small in design! It seems that the Swing Set is a huge hit with my kiddos. Just don't get your kids hopes up too much thinking you will be done in one day putting it together! It is a real chore!! But, take your time, and laugh a lot (we made plenty of mistakes and had to laugh to keep from screaming, taking things apart and re-doing! haha!) Hope you enjoy the set as much as we do!
We bought this for our 16, now 17 month old daughter. I thought she could grow into by NEXT summer, haha! She is already climbing up the ladder and using the big girl swing instead of the toddler swing I bought extra. She loves it! Pefect for toddlers. I am sure she will get a few good years out of it. The slide is fast and really fun for her. She does not use the picnic table or trapeze bar yet but I am sure she will sometime. The bad thing is that the wood is not as sturdy as I would hope and some of it busted when we put it together, but you get what you pay for! Also, it took 2 guys ALL day to put it together. It was not so much hard but there was so many small pieces of wood it was like a puzzle. Would I buy this one again? YES! Will I need a bigger one when she is 7+? YES!
All in all this is a great playset. My kids absolutely LOVE it! My husband laid out all the boards and labeled them before he started building and said that it helped immensely. I think it took about 8 hrs. for my husband and his brother to actually build the playset-- which includes a brief intermission for food and rest. It's a very attractive playset as well-- the wood and fabric coverings are really nice. So far it's holding up great-- our kids are 7 and 4 and a couple of the neighbor's kids have played on it as well. It wobbles a little, so we may end up anchoring it with cement just to be safe, but it's not bad at all.
Our son just turned 3 years old and we were looking for a nice, wooden swing set that didn't cost a fortune. This swing set is perfect. My husband worked on it little by little for a few days and then finished it ALONE on Friday. It was a hit with our son and an even bigger hit at his birthday party. Our only complaint is that because our son is so tall, it was pointless to build the picnic table underneath the fort. I'm sure we'll find something to do with the extra wood. I definitely recommend this product!!
not a bad product. only one some problems. lott of drilling and using diffrent drill bits. some of the bords were cut and predrilled rong. be verry care full of splitting some of the bords when screwing in the screws. but overall satisfyed with the sterdiness of it and over all looks. need two people to help you. took two days to bild. I have a 2yr old and the first night she played on it all night, she loves it!!!
