I have been using the Pur water system for 4 years. I recently purchased this one to match my kitchen better. I also liked the light feature which tells you when to change the filter. The water is very refreshing. The item is easy to install. You may think the price is a little high, but the stainless steel finish is beautiful and the indicator light is useful.
I found that the filters purchased on-line from Walmart appeared to be the same as ones purchased from the Pur company for twice the price. I am satisfied with my purchase.
It is worthwhile buying. A step up from the previous ones !!

I'll be returning this filter! I failed to read all the reviews on this water filter! Alot of other reviewers complained about this filter leaking around the faucet connector. My filter leaked after the 2nd or 3rd day & it seems to be getting worse! Sometime I get a spray that comes up & hits me in the face & other times it sprays on contertops! I replaced my old 3 stage filter when it finally broke after years of use with this advanced filter & I'm not happy about it at all! I'm thinking of going back to the 3 stage filter after I read the reviews. From what I've read PUR was bought out by Proctor & Gable & they are now running the show & the way it sounds quality has dropped! I'll be looking into claims of quality control before buying another PUR filter!
The system began to leak after a few days. We tried the other adapters to see if maybe they worked but no one did. The lock that keeps the system attached to the faucet also began to fail after some days. The price is high and since we didn't keep the package, we lost the money. We decided to use it to fill a pitcher, taking it out after that, so we could at least get advantage of the filter.
The problem is with the NEW, "snap-on" style filters...The old screw on style filters worked great and I owned one for seriously like 20 years...As soon as I bought the new "snap-on" style, it developed a hair line crack and began spewing water out from the sides... I dont know if the crack develops from being a cheap product, or the fact that the unit is just "snapped" in and created weight on one side, where as the screw on style dispersed the weight evenly. The snap on style hangs to one side and puts more uneven weight on the adapter. Either way, I have gone through MULTIPLE new fittings and each time they develop a new crack and water shoots across my kitchen. I owned a screw on adapter style for almost 20 years and it never leaked once. I purchased MULTIPLE screw on types and none of them ever leaked. Every black snap on adapter leaks. The new design is convenient but breaks easy with hair line cracking on the black fitting to the faucet. PLEAS FIX THIS PROBLEM PUR. Your old design worked MUCH better!!!
This is the sixth pur filter I have had in 9 years. When I returned the fifth, I found out that the warranty went from TEN years to only ONE. This one I cannot even return because walmart only sells it online now and it is not in the system. Pur must really be going down hill. This one leaked from under the faucet attachment knob, and never stopped. It filters good if it didn't leak all the time.
The product I thought I was ordering was silver/chrome, not a silver matte. I specifically reviewed all descriptions and model numbers to ensure I was ordering the same product I currently purchased. The picture displayed on website shows a chrome-like finish which is not what I received. In addition, the cap that screws onto the oblong base is broken or not made correctly as it doesn't screw in correctly and is loose. Also, the previous replacement filters I purchased; one out of the three didn't work - the orange light that lets you know the filter needs replacing was displayed the moment I put the new filter in. In the 'About You' section below, I chose that I've owned this product for more than a year. This current product I've had 3 days, but I have been using this model number for years.
I have had Pur filters for over 5 years and have been pleased up until this purchase. The previous faucet mount I had was stainless steel, so I wanted to replace it and was not interested in buying a plastic mount (which most of them seem to be now). I had looked at several stores but could not find a stainless steel model and was pleased when I saw I could order this online from Wal-Mart. I just received it today and it is plastic, not stainless steel. It will be returned today!
