Light weight base and platter, but very nice features for the money. Does not stop or pick up at end of record. YES! Mine does have a Strobe light. I set mine at 1.5 grams (weight and skating) and plays just fine...I might even try 1gm. Note that you'll have to check online/youtube for directions, but it's an easy procedure. I did send a pre-purchase email and did not get a response -- but I'm not sure that this indicates how customer service would handle other issues.
I wish it played 78s.
Very easy to use and looks cool
I use this turntable to play the old vinyl that my parents gave me and is works awesome. I haven't tried the USB output on it yet but I intend to try it. The only problem I have with it is that the RCA OUTs are a hard wired cable versus a hard wired connector. I believe the connector would have been a better option for this unit as I use a hardware recorder to take the songs straight to a disc so I don't have to deal with MP3 files and I get them as uncompressed WAV files that way. Other than that, the unit works to my audiophile expectations. I will probably change the RCA cable to a connector myself at some point, as I am an enigineer of such things and have access to the correct parts. This is not a task I would recommend for someone who's biggest feat was to put their entertainment center together but rather someone who knows how to fix most of their electronics to professional quality themselves. I am definately considering buying another one. To sum up, great price, easy to use and set up, top hatch closes with full 12' disc playing inside with no worries. Would be great as a fill in DJ's turntable when your more expensive one was out for repair.
Walmart got it wrong. This unit is NOT direct drive. It is belt driven. Other than that, seems like a nice turntable.
