Just buy some rechargeables and it's off to the races.
Perfect! It even came with 4 d cell batteries. Cheaper to operate and lasts longer(battery life).
An increasing hard to find typical 6V lantern battery is rated at 12 Ah to 0.8 volts. They run on 4 internal “F” cells. With this Rayovac adapter, you can run 4 readily available Duracell alkaline “D” cells at 15 Ah each for a total of 60 Ah for around $8. I can't elaborate on the durability since I just bought this item. However, it looks like it should last since it is normally housed inside of a flashlight. I have to give this item a thumbs up.
Just what I was looking for. (Can't believe I had such a hard time finding one!) Seems sturdy and comes packed with batteries. Couldn't ask for more.
I use this in my Moultrie deer feeder, the first feeder I bought came with one the second one didn't, so I had to use a 6v lantern battery that was 10.00 and didn't last very long. With this adapter I can use 4 D batteries at half the cost and last twice as long.
I got this after I couldn't locate a 6 volt lantern battery on short notice. Everyplace has D batteries. This is a quality product and the retro look of the accompanying D batteries is a nice touch.

Great item, great price, replaces a 6 volt battery that are expensive and sometimes hard to find with D batteries available everywhere.
Purchased 4 at Williamsville, NY location. Adapter is perfect with the 4 included "d" batteries and is sized the same size a actual 6v lantern battery. Regular 6 v lantern batteries are expensive and not everyone carries the item as compared to readily available "d" size batteries.
I have a light that some 6 volts are to big, some are right. This is a great backup to my rechargeable 6 volt which I am having problems getting one that fits. Not only does this fit but gives me spare D-cells as well as a spare 6 volt when I need it. Will buy it every time I need D-cells to have extras. Works great and fits those lights that require a smaller 6 volt.
