The Red Heart Super Saver yarn is very comfortable to use. The yarn slides on my crochet hook easily. It does not split and maintaining guage/tension is simple. I paired the soft white with the green scream All in One Granny Square yarn. The granny square made 15 squares so i made 15 soft white squares and this makes a great sized baby blanket. It could also be a lap blanket.
RedHeaart Supersaver is a great yarn for the price. The more you wash it, the softer it gets. Becare of what you are creating as with age, the yarn softens so much that stuffed animals will lose their shape. Sometimes the yarn will separate as you are corcheting it.
RH Super Saver comes in so many colors and holds it shape nicely. I will be using it for designs in an amigurumi pattern book because it is widely available and cost efficient, making it more accessible to more people.
I recieved an order for a lion in these colors and I must say they worked perfectly. I love this yarn it's not overly thick and was super soft for this particular project. I love the simplicity and ease that Wal-mart has in ordering and delivering to my nearest location.
I have always used RedHeart - its a sturdy yarn that washes well - I still have things I made with Red Heart from 1967 as the Afghan you see in this photo - This blanket made in 1967 has been through numerous washes - kids playing with it - went on family picnics and was in the trunk of the car for years.
Caron is great yarn to crochet with. Excellent color selection online. I use it to make warm prayer shawls for my fellow church members and those in several hospice centers. Leftover yarn goes into hats for adult homeless and/or mittens for children in need. Not an inch is wasted!
Went to 5 local stores and couldn't find this yarn. Went to Walmart online and got site to store shipping for free!! This yarn is what I use in my newborn baby elf hats. It crochets up nicely and hold a beautiful shape. It is machine wash and dry, but due to my hand made pompoms I recommend hand wash and lay flat to dry to protect the pompoms.
I ran out of a color just at the last part of an afghan and had to order one skein. The color was good but the texture and the thickness of the yarn was in my opinion poorer quality being rougher and coarser than the strands I had been using. I don't think it will be noticeable. It actually made my tension finger sore to use it.
Yarn has some fraying spots (all skeins). Skeins do not have equal amounts of yarn on them. One skein was over 9 feet shorter. The other 6 feet shorter. (I am using 3 strands held together to make something). Delivery was earlier than expected. But my completion for the order was delayed as I ran out of the originally ordered yarn before item completed. Instead of 7 skeins I had to use 11 with very little left over. This was a very researched pattern so I know it wasn't an error on the part of the designer.
They sent me the wrong size yardage. I ordered 364 yards (7 oz) and they sent me 236 yards (5oz) I got half way through my project and realized the error. I contacted customer service and they said they don't sell in that yardage even though it was right there in print in the email they sent me back. They owe me 889 yards of yarn. If they don't sell that amount they need to fix the listing.
