Installation needs professional skills as one side needs to be drilled for support (if you have a wall). Its easy to remove it with one hand, however, for locking it requires a lot of effort. The instructions were quite good and the parts were over supplied so it was useful.

The gate was very easy to install, is strong and sturdy, like that it has a squeeze hatch to open and close, looks great, l brought 2of them and put them outside to block off my steps to keep my great grandson from going down the stairs
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Unfortunately, this did not quite work for our setup. We needed it for my mother's house because she has stairs. It could be due to the uniqueness of the Bannister shape. The product comes with very detailed instructions and looks very solid. I just cannot give a complete review because it didn't fully work for our needs.
After tons and tons of research on baby gates we settled on this one. We really didn't want to have to drill into our wooden spindles but wanted to make sure our 1 year old was safe. This gate did it. We did have to drill into the actual wall but that was fine, as it is an easy fix. I also like that it has adapters to work around having molding. I definately recommend following the instructions carefully, and it took about 25-30 mins to install. I do overall feel like it is a sturdy gate. The downside is the gate swings both ways at the top of the stairs and if you let it hang over the stairs the velcro starts to loosen a little. but there is a lock over the velcro. and the way to open it is not really the easiest way invented, you have to lift it up, so although you can open it one handed, sometimes it's a little harder to shut 1 handed. All in all we liked it enough to get 2 more for our other stair openings.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This baby gate has many pros to it: it has versatility in being used on stairs or doorways, it's aesthetically pleasing, not bulky and the main frame of it is metal, which makes me appreciate its sturdiness. However, the metal gate and frame are supported by plastic pieces that seem to contradict the strength of the metal. There are also several additional components to the gate itself to allow for multiple setups, but overall it seems like it could be a difficult install. If you are handy with things like this, it's an affordable option to meet your needs!
This product works great for my stairs and it doesn't damage my banister. The instructions are a little hard to understand, but the final product is great. I wish is was a little easier opening the gate; in order to open it you have to lift the gate up and slide it to the side. Otherwise, I am very satisfied with the gate.

I was really excited about this because we have a very tricky banister that gets really thin at the top. No gate has been able to work. While my son can use the stairs well, I am concerned transitioning out of his crib if he leaves his room at night. I was disappointed that this gate says it's good for up to 24 months as he's already 2, but I'm going to try it anyway. The installation seems a bit daunting, but I'm hoping it goes well and works for our needs.

Worst baby gate ever. I bought this gate because on the box it says it can be installed at both the top OR bottom of the stairs. Our issue was with keeping the baby from climbing up. We installed this gate at the bottom although the instructions only detailed how to install at the top. Well after just a few weeks of use it broke where it was attached to the banister. Only one piece broke so I figured I’d reach out the company since it’s definitely under warranty. They asked me for the batch/model/ and date of manufacture. When I went to get this information the sticker was placed in the same place we had to put our hands in order to open and close the gate so I couldn’t see the information because it had rubbed off. Although all I needed to reinstall the gate was the tiny plastic piece that connects to the wall they were rude and refused to help me. Customer service and their warranty is a joke. I’ll be returning to Walmart and buying an entirely different brand.
