Easy to install. Made well and very secure.
I searched all over the web looking for a top of the stairs gate that would attach between 2 bannisters that wouldn't cost a fortune. I came across the Regalo-Extra Tall Top of Stairs Metal Gate and decided to place an order after reading all the reviews. The gate came delivered right to my door step all for a cost of under $54.00. The directions at first were a bit confusing but once I got it figured out, the installation was quite easy. The gate looks nice (although I would have preferred wood) and I have peace of mind my grandson is now safe. The door to open and close works very easy. Very pleased!!!
I purchased the gate to use at the top of my stairs to prevent my uncle (who is 92) from falling as he move around with his walker. The great part, I did not have to drill or screw the gate into my stair posts. I just used the strips provided and it is very secured and tall enough to protect him from falling through.
This gate is the ultimate toddler/sometimes adult gate. It's a pain to line up the latch but once it's lined up it's definitely not going anywhere. This gate would probably hold our stairs together in a tornado. It is also toddler proof. Fun fact: The bars on the gate are wide enough to let chunky cats through and other small pets. Not border collies though. All jokes aside, it's a great gate.
We bought this gate because we have a railing on one side and a wall on the other. We didn't want to spend a ton but still wanted a quality gate. This gate is all of that! it was fairly easy to install and is very sturdy and looks great! we didn't have to drill holes into the railing, which we were concerned about. Overall, great gate for the price!
This gate is the greatest! I have researched many different options for my stairs and this is the best one on the market. It comes with everything you need for stair installation, no matter if you have two banisters, wall-to-wall, or wall-to-banister. I love it! I use it to prevent my two pit bulls from getting up the stairs and it is very sturdy. Installation was easy. One of the banister straps came unsewn when I was trying to tightly wrap it around the banister, but for me this wasn't a problem because I was attaching to a wall on the other side. It would have been an easy fix if I needed to use it. LOVE this product!
I like that gate because I don't have to drill it into my banisters however found it quite difficult to get leveled against my banister and I find it very difficult to line up to close because not only does it swing open but the gate also slides back and forth changing the width of the gate. I also like that it can be removed from hardware very easily when not in use.
Great sturdy gate and one of the only ones that I found that you don't have to screw into your stair banister. The only downfall of this gate (and the only reason I didn't give it a 4/5 star rating) is that it's really difficult to open/close with one hand. You have to align the pegs on the door with the holes on the stationary banister sections while sliding the door closed.... this is really hard to do with one hand and a baby in the other. Besides that this is the only gate that worked for us and, when latched properly, is very secure/sturdy.
I love the height and width of this gate. It does what it is intended to do. The getting open and shut is a pain. It sticks instead of gliding while opening and shutting. Lining up the top and bottom pins to latch it is a pain as well.
The box was all ripped by it looks like someone has previously opened it is absolutely all destroy I haven't even opened it yet hopefully when I do open it all the pieces are inside the box. Otherwise I'll have to return it. Disappoint ed customer
