This monitor replaced an older one that has had so much use it finally gave up and left us. With reservations, I purchased the wrist model because it does not require removing my coat or long sleeve shirt to get a reading (and yes, leaving the shirt on and attempting a cuff measurement above the elbow WILL NOT always give a proper reading...quoting my Cardiologist). My doctor checked it against his and said it was as good as his models costing much more...think I'll keep it.
This product has become so handy for my son to not have to run to the doctor's office or somewhere else that checks his blood pressure. Since he found out that it was high we have been able to keep it under control better because we can monitor it each day with this product. Also, thanks for the convenience of being able to order it on the web and not to have to go from store to store to find this product that Consumer Reports found to be the best for checking high blood pressure at home.
The wrist blood pressure monitor is easy to use at home and is quite accurate. My wife and I place it on the wrist, push the button, and wait for results. Records are kept and are good for providing to family doctor.
I don't generally write reviews for any products, but this one took me by surprise. Just turned 41, doctor said blood pressure was getting to the "pre" hyper-level. This product is out of the box- wrap arond your wrist - press start - read result -done. I brought it to my last check-up, and took my BP after the nurse, and it differed by 9 pts systolic and 4 pts diastolic (both higher) Big deal! great for general monitoring! It's like having a digital weight scale that varies 1-3 lbs - who cares -it's just a gauge. With this monitor, Iv'e found how to improve my blood pressure and feel more relaxed. Can't beat it for under $50
We enjoy the blood pressure moniter very much. It has definitely served it's purpose! It doesn't take up a lot of space to store either which we also like as well.
I am very pleased with my purchase. I had an arm blood pressure monitor and find this one so easy to use and accurate. You do need to make sure that your arm is in the correct position as instructed to get the accurate reading, but this is very easy to use and a great value for the price. I recommeded to all my co-workers who have high blood pressure and they love theirs as well!
The cuff is easy to use and allows me to save my BP measurements over an extended period of time. So, when the doctor asks what my readings have been, I just bring it with me and show him! The best features for me include the one touch use, the large easy to see numbers and the portability. I take it everywhere so I can measure my blood pressure instantly. The only thing is you have to follow the directions regarding hand/arm placement and keep the cuff at heart level when using it. If the cuff is below heart level you get a false high and if it is above heart level, you get a false low reading.
After many years of using an arm cuff blood pressure monitor, it is such a joy to have the ease of this wrist monitor! Faster readings, so easy to use and much quieter than the larger arm models. I would always dread having to remove my sleeve each time I needed to take a reading! Now I simply slip the monitor on my wrist, adjust it to a snug fit and push one button! It also has an attractive storage case. I highly recommend this style blood pressure monitor and ReliOn has always been a reliable and quality manufacturer of blood pressure monitors!
This product is very easy to use but the readings are not accurate. There are disclaimers in the manual stating this also. How can you trust the readings with so many disclaimers?
I have to use this product on average 3-5 times a day since I work in the nursing field. At first, I didn't have any problem with this product. The problems came about 4-5 months after buying the product. I have changed out the batteries several times and the first reading is never right. Now the B/P cuff will inflate higher than 230 on the average person. The plastic cuff inside has already broken. I don't think I am rough on my tools but this has been an inferior product.
