I bought this at my local Walmart for less than the price on the internet, brought it home, plugged it in and this high pitch squeal comes out. The "squeal" is actually painful to my ears. The dryer itself looks well made. It's light weight and small enough to make it easy to handle. It says it has a removable air filter but without the instructions, I couldn't get it off. I like the sliding switches much better than push buttons. The color is black with deep purple near the switches, not the red shown here. If it weren't for the squeal in the motor, I would have kept it but the noise is just too painful to my ears. This problem is not unique to this hair dryer or this brand. I'm returning it.
