This AC unit cools a room quickly (~150 sqft.)! Very easy install. My first portable AC unit so nothing to compare it to - It is a slightly loud machine. BUT it does the trick on these really hot and humid days. Stay cool!
I was a little hesitant about buying a "Factory Refurbished" DeLongi pinguino at first. I read the reviews and saw the model had great reviews. I decided to give it a try. I am very pleased with this model. We have had it for a week and the first few days we had it, it was very hot/humid. We ran the unit non-stop. The unit ran like a charm! It is still running strong. Since it does get cooler in the evenings, I shut the unit off and open the windows. We live in a 900 SQ. foot house. We have the unit in our living room, it cools our living room and our bedroom, which is right off the living room. It cools a 300 SQ. space, maybe a little more. This unit is awesome! Give it a try if you live in a small space or need to cool 1 room (maybe a little more) it's a great purchase!
Ordered 2 so that we could cover most of the house. The first unit arrived quickly and worked perfectly. The 2nd unit arrived with a cracked plug, but the outer piece screwed in and it worked well for 4 days. Yesterday we noticed it was leaking all over the floor (about 4 ounces every 1/2 hour). Shut it off and unplugged it for the day. When I got home, i took off the plug and everything looks fine, nothing drained out. Replugged it in, started right up. And it is dripping again. Please help. Walmart wants me to pay to ship it back and buy another one.
I ordered the air conditioner well ahead of an upcoming record-setting heat wave. Shipped via FedEx and should have arrived before the heat. Instead, the package arrived 9 days late. Walmart, stop shipping with FedEx. They are utterly incompetent. I should have gone with Amazon, and next time I will. They're always on time. The air conditioner is great. Works well and set up was pretty easy.
Bought this for my 89 yr old dad and 80 yr old mom. They live in a senior apartment, 3rd floor, with no air in northern Wisconsin. Their windows wouldn't make a window unit feasible. They were able to pick this unit up, figure out how to put it in and run it......and are loving it! Not a ton of hot days, and I'm sure they don't get it very cold, but it's really helped with humidity and they are using it more than they thought they would! I haven't seen it, but they tell me it's "a beautiful piece of furniture "!
Drain port on back on unit broken off ! Just went to assemble and install and discovered could put cap on drain port because it was not there ! Need repair part or replacement of unit !
Rather laughably, this is a "portable" air conditioner, but when you read the instructions, it states that you need to use it on a single outlet circuit. That's right - it's completely portable, as long as you wire your house so that every window has a single outlet circuit within 2 feet of it. Like... what, even? For the record, I've owned this for just long enough to read the instructions that shipped with it, I just think it's a little ridiculous that using it as advertised voids the warranty. I will have to see if it pops any fuses. In terms of actual use, I may need to amend this review as time goes on, as I haven't had it running for more than a few minutes. But it was well packaged, it arrived in-tact, with only minor cosmetic damages that can be expected with a refurbished item. It cools and feels SO NICE - will have to see if it handles the area I'm using it in. My only functional complaint is that the vent is very short, and it would not reach 2/3 of the windows I was considering using it with. I also had to saw a piece of the window attachment off to make it fit the window I did end up using it in, but... since I had already voided the warranty by plugging it in anyways, it's kinda whatever, right? :)
Came damaged unhappy with treatment from Walmart to costly to send back it works but I had to duck tape it they offered 10% off next order employee was not very friendly and I'm not satisfied but I'm stuck with it hose housing broken
I purchased refurbished item with their 3 year protection plan for extra protection. Motor began sputtering and stopped cooling within 6hrs of use. I tried to get a hold of their protection plan but they were unresponsive. I returned the item ASAP to Walmart location.
we had this unit for about a week and last night the motor made a crazy machine gun noise and started to smoke immediately. It scared the halibut out of me at 3 in the morning. Customer Service offered no help
