A Good Buy.

After adding bar oil and fuel, the chainsaw started after just a few pulls. I let it idle for several minutes and put it to work on a tree stump . It ran smoothly without problems and had plenty of power to slice through a 16" stump..

I made a mistake when I opened it up buy not making sure the brake was released before removing the bar cover. I have a Husky 365 28" where you don't have to worry about the brake when changing blades. Long story short, make sure the brake is off before you loosen the nut on the cover plate. Otherwise, this thing has strong engine and cuts great!

I bought this saw with a bit of doubt about it in my mind, however when it was delivered and I looked it over I was impressed with it. its called "re-furbished" and I guess it is but the re work is done with a factory husky approved refurbishment outfit. the saw is like new-new chain new bar and the rest of it looks new. all owners manuals and tools are included just like a new saw. no sales tax and free shipping saves me a bit over 100 dollars versus a new saw. great deal I gotta say.

Bought the chainsaw for my cabin work. I had several large but dead oak trees. I had tried to cut one down with an electric chain saw (6.5 amp) but it could not handle the red oak. This chain saw, although others would say it is for smaller trees worked without any trouble. I did not have any trouble with the idle speed from the time I pulled it out of the box. Keeping the teeth sharp and draining the bar oil when not in use seems to be the trick. It is light, but it does cut 16" oak trees without fatiguing the operator. Don't know if it would hold up for daily use, but for around the homestead, it starts right up, and can work longer than I can. Gas and bar oil run out at about the same time, so this helps in keeping oil on the chain.

Took it out of the box and cut down 3 big red oaks. The Chainsaw started directly and provided plenty of power for the job. I'm very pleased with my Husqvarna and look forward to my next time in the woods.

Give 'er a pull...

Pros: Cuts easily without a lot of vibration. Cut a cord in no time. Cons: Doesn't start as easily as I would like. Sometimes takes up to 15 pulls --- not great for a bad shoulder. The instruction manual is terrible ---- thumb nail pictures that might as well be foreign postage stamps. I ended up going to a dealer for instructions on how to start it!

Ok, I bought this saw refurbished based on the Huskvarna name alone and past experience with this manufacturer. That being said I saw reviews here and other places that this saw is plagued with starting problems and can honestly say thats not true. Two stroke motors can be inherently fussy but if you pay some mind to the following tips you can avoid starting issue's and eliminate the headaches. Get a one gallon gas can and add a little high test GOOD quality gasoline. I tell people who are unfamiliar with mixing gas with oil for two stroke motors to just buy the small 2.6 oz bottle of two stroke oil@ the hardware store and dump it in the after adding a little fuel to the can after which continue filling the can until the gas pump reads one gallon. The instructions say to pump the primer bulb at first too many times, if you flood the saw you will have problems. Pump the clear primer bulb on a new saw until you see a little fuel inside of it and then usually one more time. Set the saw to full choke and pull it over maybe 5 to 7 times, remember your dealing with an empty fuel system on a new saw so the number of times you press the primer till you see a little fuel will vary. You should hear the saw sputter and probably not start, thats usually ok. Gently push the choke lever down one click off of "full choke" and pull it over a few more times it should start. If it doesnt. Push the primer bulb one or two more times and pull it over again a few times and listen for the same sputter. Assuming the saw isnt defective it should start. After the first time of use you should only need to pump the primer a couple times on a cold saw and it should sputter as mentioned above. Again, gently push the choke knob down one click and pull it over a few times,it should start. Performance: If all your cutting is brush and tree limbs this saw is a beast. If you bury the 18" bar in a big hardwood tree you will quickly see the saw is somewhat under powered but it is a light duty saw. It is lighter in weight and better balanced than many saws in its class with acceptable vibration and arm fatigue.

I called the manufactors of this chain saw while it was in transit and asked, if knowing this was a reconditioned saw,- was it tested to make sure it worked and all that. I was told YES they are all tested and work. I got a scratched up,with a letter R scratched Into the side of the Orange saw and a chainsaw that would NOT stay on. my hubby would finally get it running and it would STOP! It did not idle right when it was on for the whole 30 secounds before it STOPPED! It also leaked oil. I did PAY $24.98 outta pocket to re ship this saw back to get a refund. I did not whoever get reimbursed my shipping on a saw that looked as bad as it sounded. We went to Lowes and purchased a brand new one just like this, for $60 more and are very happy. BE warned it your thinking about buying a refurbished one. We did not know until after we ordered it that it was refurbished.
