I have now used this saw on a couple of occasions to prune the maple trees on my property. I started with one farther away from the house in case of any kick back or difficulty, in order to avoid accidentally hitting any windows - I shouldn't have worried! The saw works fabulously - no kick back, not too heavy, telescoping was a huge help! It even worked great to cut everything into smaller pieces to fit in the dumpster, my least favorite part usually! I'm 5'2", and was admittedly a bit worried about how it would handle, but now I'd recommend it to anyone. And as far as the refurb part goes, my saw looked brand new when it arrived!
Trimming branches over my rental duplexes, cuts very quickly and easily, fairly quiet, not too heavy (have not tried it at full extension yet). Chain came off after a few cuts--easy to fix. Will see if it happens on my second use. Beats a regular pole saw hands down--no comparison. I am glad I tried the regular pole saw using my neighbors--even he said he would get a pole chain saw if he had to do it over.
I am a short girl so I was in need of this pole saw. I hired a crew to trim a few limbs for me last year and decided this year I would do it myself by purchasing this saw for less than I paid them. It's not too heavy which I love. It was easy assembly out of the box which enabled me to immediately start cutting. I trim a little here and there each day and then mulch it in my Sun Joe electric wood chipper/ shredder that I purchased at same time.
I was very pleased with the power and how well it performed. For a rebuilt product at first i was a little leery but i bought it any way and I am glad i did. I have a large two acre lot with a lot of trees and it has made my job a lot eager taking care of the lower branches that block air flow and visibility. I would recommend this product to anyone that hat needs to keep tress trimmed.
Saw works well. Extends out 9 feet or so. Do not get how you can advertise that it gives 15 feet of extension.
I trimmed a large spruce tree from the ground to 8 feet. it took 10 minutes to cut the branches and it was fun.
My pole saw arrived on time. I opened the box and looked forward to using it but the tool necessary for assembly was missing. I called in immediately and told representative about it and they said they were sending me the tool. That was five weeks ago and still no tool. I called again last week to let them know that I never got the tool. They said that they would send another one. We will see...
After I assembled the saw, tried to cut a branch of a tree. Not really cutting the branch. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
