Great little spa!
(5)
Reviewed in the USA on 2009-07-04T17:00:00

First I'd like to start with the bad. I purchased this spa online last week, and it's $100 cheaper this week. If I can figure out how to get the $100 back, then even this is great! The spa was scheduled for site to store delivery between 7/3/2009 and 7/11/2009. It arrived on July 2nd, just in time for a long weekend! Setup: figure out where you want the spa to live, attached the air hose from air output port in the "arm" supporting the controller to the air input port near the bottom of the spa, and turn on bubbles. The spa blows up! Check the air pressure with the included "barometer" so you will know it's properly inflated. Don't put the air hose away, you will need it to blow up the insulating water cover. There's also a lockable zipper cover with a heat reflector. Install the "twist on" filter, and fill the spa with water. The manual didn't say you could or could not use hot water, so I went with the hot stuff, being careful not to let the water get "too" hot. Fill to the water line. Filling the spa can take time if you let the hot water heater recover. It is a good idea to use the insulating cover to keep as much heat in the spa as possible. Once the water is up to the water line you can plug in the spa. A word of caution. Water and electricty are a bad mix. Read and FOLLOW the instructions in the manual, and plug the spa directly into a GFCI and do not use an extention cord. Using the spa: Wait for the spa to get to 104 degrees. If you used hot water, this shouldn't take more than two or three hours. If you used cold water, it may be 24 hours or longer! The heater is only 900 watts. If you intend on reusing the water, now is a good time to test and add some chemicals. Once the spa gets warm, use it! The water gets cooler as you use the spa, the heater can not keep up with the bubbles. After 30 minutes, the water will likely be down to 99 or 98 degrees even if the heater is running while you are in the spa. We have the spa in our basement, the air temp is in the mid 70's. If you intend to use the spa outside, I would imagine that wintertime air will cool the spa more quickly. I'm ready to get out of the spa after 15-20 minutes, so the temp usually ends up at about 100 to 101 degrees. The good part here is that it will recover to 104 after a couple hours, and you could use it a second or third time in the same day. Filters: The spa comes with two filters, I can't say how long they will last, but I orded spares today. Walmart does not carry the m-spa filters in the store or online. Hopefully this will change. Filters are available online at the m-spa website. Also available at the m-spa website are little "seats" that you fill with water. My wife is short, she's not totally comfortable sitting on the floor of the spa so I ordered the seats, two for $20 Chemicals: The spa comes with 50 test strips that are easy to use. Spa chemicals are not included, and there is little information about how to treat the spa in the manual. You may want to do a little research before you receive the spa so you have chemicals on hand. Walmart carries everything you need. Thoughts about the spa: The bubbles are great. You may still want a big spa someday, and this spa may even accelerate that desire, but the bubbles are a powerful way to agitate the water. The "spa experience" provided by the m-spa is simply wonderful. Since we are in a basement and on a carpeted floor, we installed plastic and outdoor carpet under the spa area. Once we used the spa, we found that it is difficult to contain the water inside the spa, especially behind your head. You will either need to keep your head and arms tight against the spa, or move away from the outside of the spa otherwise the water wants to squirt out of the spa. This isn't a big deal, and it's easy to deal with once you get the hang of it. We ended up placing four shower curtians over the drywall in the corner of the room with the spa. So now for the bad (other than the $100 I mentioned earlier) The heater is weak. This gets the spa power into a normal outlet, and saves you hundreds of dollars on an electrician, but it also forces some planning to use the spa. I've found that the heaer will shut off at 104-105 degrees, and then the temp can fall as far as 101 before it turns back on. I would call this a design flaw, the spa should maintain 104 degrees. There is a workaround. If the heater is below 104 and you turn it off and on, it will come on and heat the water. It might be a good idea to plan on preforming this task an hour or so before you plan to enter the spa, especially if you are looking for 30 minutes of water that is above 98 degrees! I've been in the spa 6 times in the last two days, and I can say that it's a great buy at $500. Now that it's $400, if you are reading this, you want this spa, you want it bad!

First off I normally don't do reviews. I do however look at reviews before purchasing an item and I was dissapointed to find the Bubble Spa with no reviews. I have considered a hot tub for years but haven't been willing to purchase one in fear it wouldn't get used. I have looked at portable spa's in the past and just wasn't willing to spend the $900-$1200 for an item I considered to be disposable. However finding this spa at Walmart.com for $499 I figured why not. The price is definately right if I only get a year or two use from it. I ordered last Thursday and it arrived today in exactly one week including the Holiday weekend. I came home early at 3pm and opened the box. By 3:15 I had the hose in it filling with hot water from the washing machine. I had to stop a couple of times to let the water heater recover but by 5pm I was in it for the first time. I must say I am impressed. We have a whirlpool tub and I have been in many hot tubs and was a little leary about air jets instead of water driven jets. It was truly a pleasure. I have lower back pain and it helped loosen the tight muscles as well or better than our whirlpool tub. I placed the spa on an enclosed patio. I have already been in a second time tonight and the water temp did drop about a degree every 10 minutes. Starting at 104 It was down to 101 after 30 minutes. This is because the jets are driven with ambient air and causes the temp to decrease. It wasn't a problem and was hardly noticable. We will see how the durbility is over time but so far I believe this is an excellent purchase. If you are on the fence about purchasing this product jump over and place the order. You won't be dissapointed. If you do a search on youtube you can find some videos on how to set up and use the spa also.

We have been looking at hot tubs for a couple of years, but just couldn't see paying thousands of dollars for one of the big ones. I usesd to have one of the big boys, and while I did use it, I did not get my money's worth out of it, that is for sure! I found this when it was on sale for $399 and after reading the reviews from the other owners, decided I would give it a shot. I can honestly say that this is one of the best purchases I have ever made! The tub sets up very quickly... not five minutes quick, but in less than an hour. We didn't fill ours with hot water like many people suggested, we used good ole' cold spring water, so it took a good day to heat up. But when it did heat up, holy cow was it comfortable! Some of my concerns: 1. How relaxing will hundreds of bubbles be compared to the jets of the higher cost tubs? While you do not get the direct pressure on specific sore muscles like you do with the jets, overall the bubbles are way more relaxing! Your whole body gets to enjoy the feel of the bubbles flowing over it. 2. Will the lack of seats in the tub make it feel awkward? NO! I never realized just how much the molded fiberglass seats restrict how you sit and relax in the tub. The tub is very sturdy feeling, and the material is very thick. Overall, I highly recommend this to anyone who, like me, has wanted a hottub for years, but have just put off buying one because of the cost. The price is amazing for such a great tub that I have enjoyed more than I ever did my big ole' expensive tub!

I have always wanted to try a Spa at home but did not want to spend thousands for the spa and wireing before I knew if we would use and enjoy it on a regular basis. When I saw this one, I felt it was reasonably priced and worth a try. It was very easy to assemble and I was filling it with water in about 15 minutes. Once filled, I used it immediately even befor the water was heated. Everything worked well and was easy to operate. I was very pleased with the ease of assembly and operation. Once the water heated up, it was even more enjoyable and relaxing. We have had the spa for about a month and use it daily. It has been cool for July in NY and we heat the spa to somewhere between 92-102 and it is very comfortable even after the sun goes down. The bubble action is very good and better than I expected for a portable spa. The highest temp. the spa is capable of attaining is 104 degrees. Our's has registered 104 once on the digital display. I have not checked the accuracy of that reading with another device. I would say, It feels like warm bath water but not as hot as other hot tubs I've been in. I don't believe that it could be used outdoors in winter in NY. It won't hold the heat or be warm enough. I plan on leaving it up until late fall and storing it for the winter. However, I am completely satisfied with this spa and feel it is well worth the price.

MSPA Bubble Spa a winner for portable tubs

A great product. I have owned one in the past. This is a new model 110A. The new features are wonderful. It has an inflatable cover to compliment the zip up vinyl cover. The drainage system is also a plus. It has a drain plug located at the bottom of the tub, previous model involved using the filter system and never completely drained the tub. MSPA has also added a nifty screw on attachment that insures the control board and and the power input do not become detached or let water into the power cord. All in all a great portable tub for three seasons. Don't forget to cover it with a tarp as the summer sun will do wicked damage to the exterior of your tub. Purchased mine for $399 sale prices ranged from 399 to 449. What are you waiting for, treat yourself!!!

I've owned another inflatable spa like this one.. but this one far beats it. This one is smaller but nicer. The bottom is nice and cushy and keeps it's heat in. I turned it off a couple of days ago and forgot to turn it back on. The temperature has been in the 60's and lower at night. Well the spa had only gotten down to 94 degrees. It warms up exactly 2 degrees an hour, but it's so nice... love it.

This is the second item I've purchased from Wal-Mart on line and I must say they are batting a thousand. I've wantted a hot tub for so long it isn't funny but could not afford one. Last year Wal-Mart featured one for $888.00. It took me so long to make up my mind that when I finally did they were no longer offering it, boy was I disappointed. I just decided that I was never going to get one. Two weeks ago my co-worker asked me did I see the bubble spa on line so I checked it out and wasn't sure. I mean how much power could it have at that price, $499.00. I kept putting it off until I let my birthday come and go without it. I finally just decided what did I have to lose since I could always return it if it didn't work. I opted the site to store with free shiping (a plus) but they said it could take up to 3weeks for delivery, and all the other shipping options were really costly. I'm happy to say it took only a week but when I picked it up I was expecting a large box it was small so small it fit in the cart. Well my husband took it home and started assembly while I went back to work and an hour later he call to say it was set up and filled. Ok I thought there was no way this was going to be good. When I got home I was knocked over by the size, simpleness, sturdyness and sheer elegance. I immediatly put my bathing suite on and got in, well it was cold. I pressed the heating button but after an hour it still wasn't hot. I immedialty was regretting this purchase. I put the covers on it, zipped it up and locked it (yeah it comes with a combination lock) and went to bed but I forgot to cut the heater off. Well the next evening after work I decided to try it again. I looked at the temp and it said 101 degrees and it was hot. I must have stayed in that spa for at least 2 hrs and than it only dropped about 2 degrees. The bubble jets are sooo powerful I had to keep cutting it off and on. You will need to buy chlorine tablets to keep the water clean and well filtered but if you are on a limited budget and limited space you would be missing out it you pass this one up. I know where I'll be everyday after work and boy do I look forward to weekends. My only regret is waiting so long. Go Get Ya One:)

First I'd like to say we have owned a full sized spa for years and use it 9 months ourt of the year. We have an in-ground heated pool and only shut the hot tub down when the pool is in use during the summer. We thought it would be a great idea to buy a second portable spa to put on the pool deck to use in the summer. We've ordered things from Walmart.com before and have had great experiences with everything. We bought this little bubble spa for only $499 so figured we really couldn't lose. We received the tub within a week of ordering it. The instructions said it could be set up in 5 minutes.......well, to be honest I was about 45 minutes and I consider myself quite handy with these things. All and all everything went well and was very easy to set up. We have used this all weekend and absolutely love it so far. We were not sure about this air bubble way of operation but actually love it. It does cool the tub down about a degree every ten minutes but it heats up quickly after covering it up after use. I must say so far this tub has far exceeded my expectations and is perfect for what we wanted it for. We only plan on using it during the summer months and will store it off season and use our full-size hot tub the rest of the year. I'm not sure how well this would work during the cold winter months here in Maine but I don't expect that it would heat quite enough to use regularly. I think this little spa is going to be a real hit with company all summer around the pool......a lot of fun for a little money.

This spa more than met my expectation except that the heater does not heat as well or as quickly as needed. The size was bigger than I expected, but I needed to buy a booster seat to sit more comfortably as I am only 5'4" tall.

Purchased 7/24/2009. A couple of months after setting spa up it started leaking. Husband found leak(or so we thought) at the seam and repaired, but still leaking and when we set spa up after being put away for winter, after filling with water the tub split up the side from drainage spout to top of spa. Have contacted manufacturer and was told to send pics and proof poff purchase. Sent all the info 3 times and still have not heard from them. We paid 419.00 for spa and now it is almost $700 for the same spa. Definitely not worth the price.
