Got this replacement and woodworking shop is non stop again thanks
Just love it It works so well best vacuum cleaner ever
Gave my existing unit to my son-in-law who moved into a new home. Bought myself a new unit based on previous Rigid experience. The only suggestion I have for the manufacturer to modify the manner in which the extensions connect to each other. After connecting two extensions and working with it to vacuum garage flooring, the units tend to come apart- no clips to keep them locked together. Either put some clips on each extension tube or the neck of the tube ought to be tapered more so more of the neck is inserted into the next extension. I never had any problem with my Shop Vac. With my previous Rigid unit I got so frustrated having them coming apart I put two screws on each side of the connection. They have never come apart again.
Really excellent vac. The vacuum bag keeps everything clean inside and is a breeze to change.
I used this wet vac to clean out some irrigation boxes for my underground sprinklers. Made the job easier while cleaning out dirt and gravel. Must have the wet filter attached while dealing with wet. Only wish it came with the unit, I had to buy that separately.
This wet/dry vac is a great asset to have for my garage and shop, The first time turning it on I was suprised as to how quiet it was and how much suction it has.
I had a Craftsman for over 30 years and it finally bit the dust. I really like the Ridgid product line, so hopefully this one will last until I die!
write this off if your in the business of construction. If not buy the bags. Our 15 yrs. old. no bag was recommended. Today they cone with bags? I didn't give excellent rating,I believe they put it on the shelf and let you decide true wear and tear. leave reveiws on all items you purchase as I would want the facts as well.
Purchased wet/dry vac for home and auto cleaning Basement took on water after heavy storms which allowed me to use my Ridgid vac for drying floors. Unit was half full when I lifted the lid off. While lifting, one handle cracked on one side-guessing the release got caught while lifting lid with the heavy weight due to the water in unit. I only used item few times in last three years and was happy with my choice. Ridgid warranty sadly did not cover the shearing of their plastic handle/lid stating it occurred during normal "wear and tear". I only need the top part of the vacuum and would have appreciated a swap via mail. Sadly I will look for another brand to replace this "weak warrantied " vacuum. They claim products have FULL LIFETIME WARRANTY- but in small print they do not cover misuse, abuse, or normal wear and tear. Attempting to empty their unit by releasing top lid apparently allows them to deny their warranty Sad.
I bought the item a month ago for some restoration projects. Item has performed exceptionally. Better than expected. Only problem was the filter that came with it split or cracked rubber when I slipped it on. Was a shame. Maybe just a factory flaw, because I bought a new fine dust filter afterwards, that went on perfectly with no cracks.
