We sliced a deli turkey breasst and later, a corned beef brisket. We must have thin sliced meats for dietary reasons-the easiest meat to eat -ever! Now, we are making our own jerky out of beef, pork, fowl, and will be trying some other meats. The slicer has made these things possible! It paid for itself the first week in the savings we made purchasing cheaper cuts in larger quantity! We have plans for other uses soon, too!!
Pretty nice slicer, only complaint is the manual; which doesn't mention it is only a quater turn counter clockwise to unlock the blade. Other than that its a good slicer
This product is very handy to have. I sliced a small ham very quickly. I had a different slicer before, which was a good one for it's time, but this one is GREAT. It is very easy to clean and assemble. Good price.
I BOUGHT THIS ITEM TO USE FOR MAKING MEAT PLATTERS FOR MY SMALL CATERING BUSINESS. IT WORKS OUT PERFECT ITS LIGHTWEIGHT AND IS EASY TO CLEAN. ITS A OVERALL GOOD PRODUCT.
Works well on lunch meats, block cheese, bread, roasts, veggies, and Ham. Saves me time when I find a sale on meats or cheese. Cuts 5/8 inch slices of tenderloin nicely.(beef or pork- cooked and uncooked)It could cut a little more evenly on thin slices of big items ( ie,, roasts, hams). Cleans and stores easily. Powerful enough for what I need it for. I'm very happy with it. PS- Cut items with medium slow pressure and don't forget to adjust the speed of the cutting blade. Some things cut better at slow speeds.
I haven't had much chance to expieriment with it yet, but it does seem like a reliable product. I sliced a canned ham, a bell pepper, and a large block of sharp chedar cheese. All came out paper thin to my pleasure.
Seems to be ok. The backstop that adjusts the thickness seems to flex, which makes the slices uneven. If you hold it, it will slice even. Will slice as thick or thin as you want. Motor isn't fire breathing but seems powerful enough for the job.
Carriage doesn't slide well and food holder is difficult to master. This resulted in food slices which were kind of messy & chopped up. It is difficult to remove and then replace the blade. All in all, the slicer worked OK for our limited personal use but I was a bit disappointed in it's performance.
this slicer is great for so many types of slicing! it is a bit heavy but i think it needs to be in order to do the task at hand. The only thing i do not like about this product is that it's components are not dishwasher safe. I think it would be a great benefit to know that the working and washable parts have been nearly "steam cleaned" in water too hot for my hands to endure. Then I would no with no uncertainty that the germs from previous meat cutting jobs are gone.
We tried this product as soon as we got it home. It sliced the items crooked (thick on one side, thin on the other). The food 'pusher' was hard to use. And when it came time to clean it, their were tiny nooks that were not accessable. I had to use a toothpick, and it took a long time to clean. Then we took it back the next day!
