I read the previous reviews of this product and needless to say, I was initially skeptical of its abilities. However, I have also worked in electronics for 25 years and I wanted to give this product a try. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised. The product worked as advertised. I tuned the radio station to one of the 10 possible frequencies to find an empty frequency (one with pure static) and then I put the VR3 into the cigarette lighter and set it for the matching frequency, Initally there was a little static but I adjusted the signal level (volume level) on the VR3 and the static disappeared. I have happily used the V43 for over a month now and in two separate vehicles without a problem. I would highly recommend this product. You may have to read the "easy to read and follow" directions but it is well worth it. I gave it a 4 in expections because although it can skip forward or backward one song at a time, it doesn't have a "fast forward/rewind within a song" function or a "start where it left off in a song" function. This ability would help those of us who play long mp3's (e.g. books, lectures, radio programs, etc.). Maybe in the next version!

I have been using this FMT for a while now (almost a year). It does enough justice for what it is. No delay while switching between songs and never felt like it was playing from radio transmitter. It was sleek and good looking also. The only problem i faced was , sometime when you start the car, though you have a media inside, it will tell as there is NO media. Just have to pull it out and then pull it in. I think it is more of my car problem than the FMT. anyway i would recommend this one

I bought this for audio books and music while on cross-country trips. It works great with 1GB and 2GB USB's and SD cards. I number the audio book discs, and then I follow that sequence when I transfer the data to the USB or card. Then, the device starts at one, then picks up two, etc., even in folders. For music, I have loaded single song files onto a 2GB USB and get hours and hours without repeats. Great for rock and for Big Band sounds! You can restart the unit at a specific place in a song or a chapter by removing it from the power receptacle when you stop. When you place it in the power point again, it restarts and it picks up exactly where it left off. Weak link--after more than two years of pretty regular use, the detents holding the unit at a specific angle have broken off. After I stuffed the joint with scotch tape, it works fine again. Overall, I love this thing and strongly recommend it.

I really like this little MP3 player. I bought it for the FM transmitter function but I really like the SD mp3 player function. No power cords, No batteries. It's great. The AUX in works good also. A couple flaws: If you use a 2gig SD card it takes a long time to find a song on random play. I only put about 800M on a card and it works fine. If you turn off the car and restart it the song starts over. It's a little annoying when you are running errands. I tried the USB port and it doesn't work nearly as well as the SD card. Other than that I like it. I have about 5 SD cards that I have my music on and just switch them out.

Overall I find the VR3 to be a very useful product. In metro areas, one has to first select one of the 10 frequencies that doesn't have an active FM station. The radio will have a bit of static on this blank station. When the VR3 is plugged in, it's signal is strong enough to get rid of most of the background static. When the ignition is turned off, my VR3 will remember which frequency it is set to transmit on and which program it is playing. It will restart at the beginning of the program when turned on. The LCD display is small and a bit hard to read. The controls can pause the play function, but it does not have a fast forward or skip. Overall, it is very handy for taking music or programs with you on the road.

PRETTY NEAT PRODUCT ACTUALLY ALLOWS YOU TO ONLY PLAY YOUR MUSIC IN THE CAR ELIMINATES THOSE PESTY COMMERCIALS AND CHANGING DISCS HOWEVER WON'T PLAY PROTECTED MUSIC SO YA HAVE TO COPY TO CD FROM COMPUTER AND DOWNLOAD THE COPIED DISC AND INPUT MUSIC FROM THAT THEN YA DON'T HAVE TITLES BUT IT'S ALL YOUR FAV MUSIC SO WHAT DOES IT MATTER

I really like the concept. The signal is strong and the sound quality is quite acceptable. Unfortunately this device is much too susceptible to the heat that builds up when the car is not running. The DC outlets in my vehicle are always on and when I forget to unplug the device it gets too hot and malfunctions. I have owned two of these and the same thing happened to both of them within 30 days.

I was a bit skeptical to get this device but still I gave it a try. And probably is because I live in Houston Tx but still, I couldn't get rid of the static no matter what I did. I did notice that the performance was a lot better with an sd card than when plugging in my mp3 player; a couple of times though it wouldn't read the sd card. So the main reason why I returned it was because I couldn't get a decent sound and everytime I'd come accross a traffic light or even rolling down the windows would make the static worse, not to mention driving in dowontown Houston. I guess it will be good when you live out in the country.

This is the third product I have owned from this company and the worst one. It plays USB sticks when it feel like it, not when I want it to. Sometimes it won't play at all. I was using the player portion of it when it quit playing from my ipod. The concept is great if only a company could make a decent player. Save your money.
